JOHN R. BANKS JR. is a shareholder in the Houston firm of Mason, Coplen & Banks, P.C., where he practices in the areas of real estate and real estate litigation. He earned his B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston. Mr. Banks is a member of the State Bar of Texas. JONATHAN H. BUSS is senior underwriting counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. A Stewart associate since 1998, he started as a region underwriter based in Salt Lake City advising and educating agents and affiliates in the Rocky Mountain states region of Stewart. Mr. Buss then served as national senior underwriting counsel. As of 2008, he is in the legal services division at Stewart's home office in Houston. He has a B.S. degree in Journalism and a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri School of Law. Mr. Buss is a member of the Utah State Bar (member, Real Property Section). During the course of his employment with First American Title Insurance Company and Stewart Title Guaranty Company, he has instructed attorneys and title professionals in continuing legal education and has spoken before several land title associations. RONALD J. DOLD is vice president and senior underwriting counsel in the Houston National Commercial Services Office for First American Title Insurance Company, where he works with customers on a local and national basis, underwriting single site, and multi-site/multi state commercial real estate transactions in all 50 states. He has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate field, 16 of which were with Exxon Corporation and Shell Oil Company. While working for Exxon and Shell, Mr. Dold was involved in many real estate related transactions for those companies, including acquisition and sale of pipeline rights-of-way, refineries, marketing terminals and retail service stations. In addition to his real estate experience with major oil companies, he spent five years in private law practice, handling civil litigation matters, including more than 50 eminent domain cases for Southwestern Bell. Mr. Dold joined First American in late 1999, where he underwrote the property sales ordered by the FTC in the Exxon - Mobil merger in February 2000, which was the largest insured commercial real estate transaction at that time (more than $1.3 billion liability). He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering. Mr. Dold also earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law and has been licensed with the State Bar of Texas since 1982. He has taught numerous real estate courses for professional organizations, as well as at the community college level. ALLAN D. GOLDSTEIN is with the law firm of Morris Lendais Hollrah & Snowden. Mr. Goldstein has been a shareholder, director and officer of the firm where he practices in the areas of general civil litigation and trial work, including particular representation in construction related disputes, and real estate and title disputes. He earned his B.A. degree with honors from the University of Texas and his J.D. degree from the South Texas College of Law in Houston. Mr. Goldstein has represented home builders and developers in all types of construction, development, land acquisition and homeowner disputes. He has been the representative counsel for a national title company in various capacities involving litigation and claims against the underwriter and as counsel for its insureds involving various title disputes. JAMES L. GOSDIN is senior vice president, chief underwriting counsel and associate general counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. He underwrites title insurance transactions throughout the U.S., reinsurance transactions, and international title insurance transactions for the company. Mr. Gosdin is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in farm and ranch, commercial, and residential real estate. He is chair of the American Land Title Association Forms Committee, he is a member of the ALTA Liaison Committee with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, and he is a member of the ALTA Reinsurance Committee. Mr. Gosdin also serves on the Bylaws and the State Legislative and Regulatory Action Committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association. Mr. Gosdin is also a member of the Texas Title Standards Joint Editorial Board and the Electronic Recording Advisory Committee to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. He was named the 1998-1999 "Title Person of the Year" by TLTA. Mr. Gosdin is a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys and is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He has been listed as a Texas "Super Lawyer for Real Estate Transactions". In 2007, Mr. Gosdin wrote the ABA publication, Title Insurance: A Comprehensive Overview, Third Edition. This publication is available through ABA Book Publishing. Mr. Gosdin earned his B.A. degree, with high honors, from the University of Texas and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law. He is a member of the Order of the Coif and Phi Beta Kappa.
