FRANCES BLAIR BETHEA is an attorney with Benckenstein & Oxford, L.L.P. She has been Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1989. Ms. Bethea is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the State Bar of Texas (Real Property, Probate and Trust law Section), Texas Academy of Probate and Trust Lawyers, the Jefferson and Hardin County Bar Associations, American Bar Association, and College of the State Bar. In addition to all facets of estate planning, probate, and estate administration, her practice includes commercial transactions, and formation of business entities, not for profit organizations, oil and gas matters, and representation of governmental entities. MATTHEW MARCHAK is a shareholder with MehaffyWeber, P.C., where his primary practice areas include corporate, real estate, probate, creditor's rights, and commercial litigation. Mr. Marchak earned his B.B.A. degree from Lamar University, and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law. ANDREW C. NELSON is an attorney with the firm of MehaffyWeber, P.C., in the firm's Beaumont office. Mr. Nelson graduated from Texas A & M University and received his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from South Texas College of Law. He was named valedictorian of his law school class. While at South Texas, Mr. Nelson was a member of the Law Review, Order of the Barristers, Order of the Lytae and was assistant articles editor of the Law Review. He also was the recipient of numerous academic scholarships and awards while in law school. Mr. Nelson's practice areas include toxic tort litigation, products liability, environmental litigation, civil litigation, and premises liability and contested probate matters. Additionally, Mr. Nelson is a 2007 graduate of the Jim Evans Academy of Professional Umpiring. Prior to attending law school, he worked for the Texas Association of Sports Officials as a high school football official and high school baseball umpire from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Nelson is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Jefferson County Bar Association, the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel. He was elected as director of the board of the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association for 2011 - 2012. BANKER PHARES is an attorney in Beaumont, Texas. He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate and a member of the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Phares is licensed to practice in all courts in the state of Texas, and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of the U.S. He is a life member, National Registry of Who's Who (2000). Mr. Phares is a previous adjunct professor for Lamar University. He earned his B.S. degree from Lamar University and his J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University of Law.
