JOHN R. BANKS JR. is a shareholder in the Houston firm of Mason, Coplen & Banks, P.C., where he practices in the areas of real estate and real estate litigation. He earned his B.A. degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston. Mr. Banks is a member of the State Bar of Texas. RONALD J. DOLD is vice-president and senior underwriting counsel in the Houston National Commercial Services Office for First American Title Insurance Company, where he works with customers on a local and national basis, underwriting single site and multi-site/multi state commercial real estate transactions in all 50 states. He has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate field, 16 of which were with Exxon Corporation and Shell Oil Company. While working for Exxon and Shell, Mr. Dold was involved in many real estate related transactions for those companies, including acquisition and sale of pipeline rights-of-way, refineries, marketing terminals, and retail service stations. In addition to his real estate experience with major oil companies, he spent five years in private law practice, handling civil litigation matters, including more than 50 eminent domain cases for Southwestern Bell. Mr. Dold joined First American in late 1999, where he underwrote the property sales ordered by the FTC in the Exxon - Mobil merger in February 2000, which was the largest insured commercial real estate transaction at that time (more than $1.3 billion liability). He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial engineering. Mr. Dold also earned his law degree from the South Texas College of Law and has been licensed with the State Bar of Texas since 1982. He has taught numerous real estate courses for professional organizations, as well as at the community college level.
