LYNDON F. BITTLE is a partner with the Dallas law firm of Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, L.L.P., and heads the firm's insurance practice. His areas of practice include insurance coverage (representing policyholders) and other business litigation and appeals. He has made presentations and written articles on insurance and appellate issues for several organizations, including NBI, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (for which he became chair-elect in August 2011). Mr. Bittle is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Texas; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin; the Court of Federal Claims; and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and Federal Circuit. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was senior executive editor of the California Law Review. BRIAN W. ERIKSON is a shareholder in the Dallas law firm of Quilling, Selander, Cummiskey & Lownds, P.C., where he practices in the areas of construction and surety law. Mr. Erikson is a member of the Dallas (member, Construction Law section) and American (member, Forum Committee on the Construction Industry, and the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee) bar associations, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and is a former member of the Associated Builders and Contractors. MICHAEL MORAN is a business litigation attorney with Jackson Walker L.L.P., whose practice focuses on construction litigation, surety bonds, corporate litigation, and business fraud. His construction clients include property owners, general contractors, subcontractors, sureties, architects, engineers, and individual corporate officers and directors. His construction law practice encompasses contract negotiations, breach of contract claims, bond claims, construction defect claims, mechanic's liens, architect and engineer professional negligence, architectural copyright infringement, payment claims, and union grievances. Mr. Moran also represents businesses in disputes and litigation involving business torts, contracts, fraud, lender liability, real estate, tortious interference, and fiduciary duties. MOTES is an of counsel attorney with Coats Rose where he concentrates his practice in residential and commercial construction matters from negotiating and drafting contracts, risk management, filing and removing mechanic's liens to handling the ultimate resolution of disputes in arbitration or trials. He has litigated more than 25 disputes to final arbitration award or judgment on behalf of general contractors, homebuilders, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners. As a unique niche, he also serves as general counsel in Texas for an international church organization in its real estate matters including litigation over church properties. As a final area of concentration he has a general real estate and commercial litigation practice. Mr. Motes earned his B.A. degree from Southwestern University and his J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law. DAVID V. WILSON II is a shareholder with Hays, McConn, Rice & Pickering, P.C., in Houston, Texas. He practices in both Texas and Nevada. He is member of Construction Law sections of both the State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of Nevada. He currently serves as vice chair of the DRI Construction Law Committee, as well as being a member of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. Since 1994, he has served as an adjunct professor in the nationally ranked advocacy program at South Texas College of Law. Mr. Wilson has served as lead counsel in more than 100 trials and more than 60 appeals.
