October 24 - Knoxville WILLIAM D. EDWARDS is an attorney with Holbrook Peterson Smith, PLLC, practicing in estate planning and administration areas. He is a member of the American and Tennessee bar associations, The Mississippi Bar and the Knoxville Estate Planning Council. Mr. Edwards earned his B.B.A. degree from Lambuth University, his J.D. degree from Mississippi College School of Law and his LL.M. degree from Washington University School of Law. He is a member of the American, Tennessee and Mississippi bar associations and the Knoxville Estate Planning Council. R. LANCE PRUITT is a member of the Venable Cantey Pruitt Wealth Management Team of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Mr. Pruitt provides consultation and solutions to clients in the areas of estate planning, asset protection and business succession planning. Prior to his employment with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, he practiced law for several years, concentrating his practice in the areas of estate and tax planning, tax litigation, estate administration and corporate law. Mr. Pruitt earned his B.S. degree from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, his J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law, and his LL.M. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. BAILEY JR. is the founding member of The Bailey Law Firm, where he practices exclusively in the areas of estate planning, probate, and elder law. He is a frequent lecturer and presenter on estate planning issues to attorneys, accountants, and financial planners, and to individuals in need of estate planning services. Mr. Bailey has previously lectured for National Business Institute on estate planning and elder law matters. He has written articles for, and his advice has appeared in, numerous periodicals, including the American Bar Association's Probate & Property Journal, The Commercial Appeal, the Memphis Business Journal and The Best Times (a senior newspaper). Mr. Bailey is admitted to practice in Mississippi and Tennessee, and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate & Trust Section). In 2001, he was included in the Memphis Business Journal's "Top 40 Under 40" for his community service and business development. Mr. Bailey earned his B.A. degree, with high honors, from Millsaps College and his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. He is an alumnus of the Institute for Comparative Political and Economic Systems at Georgetown University, in Washington D.C., and the London School of Economics in London, England. LINDSAY A. JONES is a member of the estate planning group of Wiseman Bray PLLC, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning and post-death administration, as well as asset protection planning and charitable planned giving. Ms. Jones counsels clients with respect to a wide range of issues relating to wills and trusts, estate planning, trusts administration, asset protection, charitable giving, business succession and taxes. She graduated with honors with a joint law degree and masters of business administration degree from the University of Memphis Law School. JOYCE H. SEALAND is a partner in the Memphis law firm of Evans ¦ Petree PC, where she practices in estate and income tax planning and probate. She has been practicing law for 21 years, and frequently lectures for National Business Institute and other professional groups on probate, estate planning and trust issues. Ms. Sealand earned her B.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Memphis. She is a member of the American, Tennessee and Memphis bar associations, the Association for Women Attorneys, the Estate Planning Council and the National Planned Giving Council. DANIEL C. SHUMAKE is an attorney in Memphis with Williams, McDaniel, Wolfe & Womack. His areas of practice include estate planning, probate administration, guardianships and conservatorships, as well as probate litigation.
