DAVID M. ELDRIDGE is the managing shareholder at the law firm of Eldridge & Blakney, P.C., where he has represented clients in state and federal cases, and in all stages of the criminal justice system ranging from the pre-indictment investigative phase to trial representation. He is certified as a Criminal Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is certified as a Criminal Trial Specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. Mr. Eldridge has been selected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America for the last two years and has been noted as one of the best criminal defense lawyers in the United States based on his inclusion in a listing compiled by The Best of the U.S. LLC. He has taught at continuing legal education seminars hosted by the American Bar Association (ABA), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the Bureau of National Affairs, the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA), the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (TACDL), and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education for Georgia, the Knoxville Bar Association (KBA), and many others. Mr. Eldridge has lectured overseas at the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan, where he presented a discussion of the world wide implications of media coverage of the criminal justice system. He also has published instructional articles in ABA, NACDL, TBA, TACDL and KBA publications. He earned his B.S. degree, with honors, from the University of Tennessee and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Wake Forest University School of Law where he served as editor-in-chief of the Wake Forest Law Review. Following graduation, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. W. Eugene Davis of the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Mr. Eldridge is the immediate past president of the Knoxville Bar Association, serves on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Board of Directors of the Federal Defender Services of East Tennessee, and is a Master of the Bench Emeritus of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court. STEPHEN ROSS JOHNSON is a partner with Ritchie Dillard & Davies PC, where he is a trial attorney whose practice is focused on the defense of persons and companies accused of white collar crimes, major felonies, and other charges in federal and state courts. He has argued or briefed cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the U.S. Courts of Appeals (4th, 6th and 7th circuits) all federal district courts in Tennessee, the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Tennessee Court of Appeals. He is a member of the bars of these courts and has been admitted to practice on a pro hac vice basis in a number of other state and federal jurisdictions. Mr. Johnson has published articles and taught lawyers, law students, members of law enforcement, and others on the topics of trial practice, wiretapping, ethics, federal grand jury investigations, the death penalty, pretrial preparation, forensics, and other criminal law and litigation issues. He is an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he supervises students and teaches a course on Innocence and Wrongful Criminal Convictions at the UT Legal Clinic. Mr. Johnson earned his undergraduate education at Carson-Newman College, is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College at Mercer Law School, and he earned his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Mr. Johnson was chair of the Tennessee Bar Association Criminal Justice Section for three consecutive years. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, is slated to serve as President in two years, and for four consecutive years he served on that organization's Board of Directors. He serves on the judicial and technology committees of the Knoxville Bar Association and is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court. For his volunteer efforts, the Tennessee Bar Association honored Mr. Johnson with its Access to Justice Award. DOUGLAS A. TRANT is a sole practitioner in Knoxville, where his areas of practice are criminal defense, white collar defense, federal and state drug defense and post-conviction remedies. He is admitted to practice before the Alabama and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Alabama; Tennessee; U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee; U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit; U.S. District Court, Middle District of Tennessee; U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit; U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th, 9th and 11th Circuits; U.S. Court of Appeals, 3rd and 7th Circuits and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit. Mr. Trant is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee and American (member, Criminal Justice; Criminal Litigation; International Law and Practice) bar associations, Federal and International bar associations; Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (life member) and is a fellow of the International Society of Barristers (State Fellowship Chairman) and The College of Master Advocates and Barristers (Senior Counsel, 2001).
