DAVID B. PARSONS is a partner with the law firm of Baker, Campbell & Parsons in Nashville, where his work includes tax planning (individual, corporate and estate) and business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Pinson has written numerous pieces and presented seminars on business and tax law in Tennessee and Kentucky. SCHOTT is a shareholder in the Nashville office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, where she represents clients in the areas of taxation, including state and local tax litigation, nonprofit and tax exempt organizations and federal tax and estate planning. Ms. Schott's experience includes representation of companies in state corporate income tax disputes; sales and use tax disputes; local property tax litigation for commercial and industrial property owners; and advice to energy, communications and transportation companies in property tax planning and litigation. Ms. Schott advances tax strategies for corporations and limited liability companies involved in mergers and acquisitions, particularly including health care companies and real estate development ventures. She represents nonprofit entities in business planning and tax exemption qualification at both federal and state levels. Ms. Schott also handles individual tax and estate planning and probate litigation matters. She earned her M.S. degree in taxation from Grand Valley State University, her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Hollis College and her J.D. degree from the University of Kansas. SALLYE A. WILLIAMS is a manager at the Nashville law firm of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC. Ms. Williams has 11 years of experience as an accountant and auditor with public accounting firms in Tennessee and Alabama. Her range of experience includes clients in a wide variety of industries, including not-for-profit, educational institutions, governmental entities, HUD entities, trucking and construction. Ms. Williams worked for a local affiliate of Legal Services Corporation, where she was first exposed to the intricacies for not-for-profit accounting. Following her experience with Legal Services Corporation, she consulted with a medical professional to assist them with Medicare and Medicaid filing compliance issues. Ms. Williams joined a CPA firm, where she was responsible for accounting assistance and reporting compliance for various not-for-profit and governmental entities, including the West Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross and Jackson Christian School, as well as approximately seven HUD housing developments. Ms. Williams earned her B.S. degree from Union University, and is currently pursuing the Certified Fraud Examiner credentials. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Tennessee Society of CPAs.
