CHRISTINA FERRELL DAUGHERTY is a founding member of C2Law :: creative legal counsel, where she practices in a variety of legal areas, including domestic relations, juvenile, criminal, personal injury and general civil litigation. Ms. Daugherty transformed her law practice into a paperless practice in 2010, and is transforming her business into a technologically-based practice that is easy to use and manage. Since her practice focuses primarily on litigation matters, she has learned how to maneuver through the rules applicable to electronic filing requirements in various jurisdictions. Having started a new business, Ms. Daugherty has discovered the most cost-effective ways to manage a law practice by using technology to accomplish administrative tasks at little or no cost to the practitioner. Her practice is proof that technology gives attorneys the necessary edge to be successful in trial without great expenditures for traditional visual aids or trial notebooks. Working with her partner, Caitlin N. Moon, Ms. Daugherty has learned that keeping up with technological advances is requisite to maintaining a competitive edge in a law practice. She has consulted with various attorneys on the use of technology in a law office, including the use of social media, administrative technology and litigation technology. Ms. Daugherty has practiced in the Franklin/Nashville area since graduating from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2000. Before creating C2Law :: creative legal counsel and Harpeth Law Group, PLLC, she served as an Assistant District Attorney for both the 20th and 21st judicial districts. CAITLIN N. MOON operates one of the few virtual law offices in Tennessee, C2Law :: creative legal counsel, as an adjunct to her bricks-and-mortar practice in the factory at Franklin. Both through her VLO and at her firm, Ms. Moon works with individuals and families across Tennessee in the areas of estate planning and probate, elder law and business entity counsel, with an emphasis on family-owned and operated small businesses and the estate planning needs of these entities. Two years ago, Ms. Moon initiated a paperless practice initiative and now practices solely in a digital environment. The VLO model extends the reach of her practice to anyone in the state of Tennessee, and offers ease of access to her legal services at a reduced cost. In creating her paperless practice and VLO, Ms. Moon developed a significant database of technological information relevant to the practice of law. She now consults with attorneys and other professionals to assist them in leveraging technology to excel professionally, while saving money along the way. In addition to managing the practice technology for her VLO, she designs and maintains both the VLO and C2Law web sites and Facebook page; blogs at C2Law.wordpress.com; and tweets as @inspiredcat and @C2Law. Ms. Moon is passionate about engaging social media as a way to connect with clients and the community, and she regularly shares her social media experience with other professionals. She has practiced in the Franklin/Nashville area since graduating from Vanderbilt School of Law in 1998. Ms. Moon and her partner, Christina Ferrell Daugherty, created C2Law :: creative legal counsel and C2lawonline.com in 2010. Before C2Law :: creative legal counsel, Ms. Daugherty and Ms. Moon were founding partners at Harpeth Law Group, PLLC in Franklin.
