LAURIE DUNCAN is a paralegal with Howser, Newman & Besley, LLC, where her main area of practice is insurance defense. Ms. Duncan performs all paralegal functions for the attorneys in the firm. She prepares witness lists and exhibits, trial notebooks, demand and settlement documents, and deposition schedules and summaries. Ms. Duncan coordinates and manages document production, locates and interviews witnesses and experts, organizes pleading and trial exhibits, assists lawyers at trial, gathers and reviews medical records, and handles all aspects of the case from initial client contact to trial preparation. She earned her associate degree from Midlands Technical College. SHANNON L. FELDER is a sole practitioner at the Felder Law Firm, LLC. Her experience includes automobile collision, premises liability, products liability and nursing home litigation. Ms. Felder is a former judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jasper M. Cureton of the South Carolina Court of Appeals. She is a member of the South Carolina Young Lawyers Division, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA). Ms. Felder earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Winthrop University and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was a Carolina Legal Scholar and member of the South Carolina Law Review. STEVE T. POWERS is a litigation support analyst with the law firm of Turner Padget Graham & Laney P.A. in Columbia. He has been with Turner Padget Graham & Laney P.A. since 2002, and provides all aspects of litigation support, including coordination of electronic discovery projects from collection through production, development and maintenance of case management databases, and assistance in trial, arbitration and mediation involving electronic exhibits and multimedia presentations. Having left a prior career in sales and marketing, Mr. Powers completed an American Bar Association accredited program of study in 1992, earned his associate degree from the Center for Paralegal Studies in Columbia. To further his expertise in the field, he has completed LitWorks' Certified Litigation Support Professional Program, as well as the Certified Litigation Support Project Manager Program. With 18 years of paralegal experience specializing in tort litigation and insurance defense, Mr. Powers continues to offer paralegal support to Turner Padget Graham & Laney P.A.'s attorneys for certain projects, specializing in outside fact investigations. He is a member of the International Legal Technology Association and the Columbia Chapter of the Association of Litigation Support Professionals. RICHARD H. WILLIS is a partner with the Columbia law firm of Bowman and Brooke LLP, where he has been handling commercial litigation and contractual disputes in state and federal courts acorss the country for more than 25 years. Additionally, Mr. Willis practices in the areas of product liability, environmental law, toxic torts, commercial litigation and personal injury defense. He has acted as lead counsel in 11 jury trial in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee, and has handled appeals in the 4th and 11th circuits and all state appellate courts in which he is admitted to practice. While acting as regional counsel for his manufacutinr clients, Mr. Willis has directed the supervision and management of their cases, as well as acting as lead trial counsel. Mr. Willis is an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina where he teaches trial advocacy. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of the South and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. His memberships includes the South Carolina Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association and the Environmental Law Institute.
