TERI CALLEN STOMSKI is Special Counsel with Rogers, Townsend & Thomas, PC in the Business, Banking and Professional Practices Department, where she concentrates in commercial, real estate and banking transactions. She is the former South Carolina State Counsel for Investors Title Insurance Company. Mrs. Stomski earned her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of South Carolina. She received the 2009 Gold Compleat Lawyer Award by the University of South Carolina School of Law, an award given to alumni in recognition of their significant contributions to the legal profession and high standards of professional competence, ethics and integrity. She worked as a commercial lender for financial institutions in Savannah, Georgia and was named the Business Banker of the Year in 2000 and 2001, the first female repeat winner of this award. Mrs. Stomski is a former adjunct professor at Savannah State University teaching corporate governance and is a guest lecturer at the University of South Carolina School of Law on title issues and real estate transactional law. She is also a frequent lecturer and contributing author at continuing legal education seminars relating to real estate laws and regulations and title insurance underwriting. Mrs. Stomski is president of South Carolina's Palmetto Land Title Association (PLTA), where she has also served as chair of its Communications, Conventions and Membership Committees. She is past president of the Central SC Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA), which under her leadership received the Platinum Award, the highest honor for chapter excellence. Mrs. Stomski serves on the Board of Directors and Loan Committee for Business Carolina and is a member of the Richland County Bar Association and South Carolina Bar, where she served on the Executive Council of the Young Lawyer's Division from 1999 to 2001. RAY L. DERRICK is the South Carolina underwriting and claims counsel for The Security Title Corporation of Baltimore. He has lectured on real property issues for the South Carolina Bar and other professional organizations. Mr. Derrick is a member of the Lexington County and Richland County bar associations, the South Carolina Bar, the Palmetto Land Title Association and is past director of the Professional Center for Paralegal Studies. He is admitted to practice before the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals and is a visiting lecturer at the USC and Charleston Law Schools. JOSHUA O.C. LONON is the owner/member of Lonon Law Firm, LLC, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. THOMAS A. SHOOK is a member attorney in the Charleston office of the Finkel Law Firm LLC. Prior to pursuing a legal career, he served the U.S. Navy in a variety of capacities. Mr. Shook is a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College, The University of South Carolina, and The University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school Mr. Shook received the CALI award (formerly the American Jurisprudence Award) in Corporate Tax, was Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal, and was a student member of the John Belton O'Neill Inn of Court and Phi Delta Phi. He wrote "Ninth Circuit Rejects Narrow Interpretation of Responsible Corporate Officer," published as a note in the Spring 1999 edition of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal, and "The Submarine War in the Pacific," published in the Spring 1996 edition of the War Studies Journal, King's College, London. Mr. Shook is admitted to the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston County Bar, and is a member of the Real Estate Practices Section. He has appeared on numerous panels and written several continuing education programs as well as participating on the faculty of the 2003 South Carolina Master in Equity's Bench/Bar and the South Carolina Bar's "Law School for Non-Lawyers."
