RHETT D. KLOK is a partner with Klok Law Firm LLC, where he represents individuals in crisis. His practice includes products liability, injury, qui tam/whistleblower, domestic and family law cases. As a U.S. citizen raised in Mexico City, Mr. Klok is not only bilingual, but has a multicultural worldview that has served him well when representing the diverse needs of plaintiffs. He possesses an interdisciplinary background and has the flexibility and know-how to successfully tackle a client's problems. Mr. Klok's hands on approach, along with pursuing each case through an interdisciplinary approach, has served his clients well throughout the years. Prior to founding the Klok Law Firm LLC, he worked on complex litigation. Mr. Klok was an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law for the summer of 2011 teaching entertainment law. He has litigated cases involving railroad crossings, medical prescription errors, nursing homes, medical devices, medical malpractice and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Klok also has litigated cases involving aviation, asbestos, tobacco and vehicle and tire defects. He has served as vice chair of the American Association for Justice's Preemption Law Litigation Group. He also is a regular speaker at legal seminars on a variety of topics such as settlement, litigating personal injury cases, and preemption. Mr. Klok is a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem. In addition, he negotiates with loan services on behalf of homeowners in financial crisis to help them keep their homes through loan modifications and refinancing at no charge to homeowners. He is licensed in South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico and the District of Columbia. Mr. Klok is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals (10th Circuit), and the U.S. District Court (District of South Carolina, District of Colorado, Eastern and Western districts of Louisiana, District of New Mexico and the Eastern District of Texas). He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Tulane University and his J.D. degree from Loyola University School of Law. M. RITA METTS is an attorney with the Metts Law Firm, LLC in Columbia, where she focuses her practice on representing clients in the areas of insurance defense, social security disability, veteran disability, family law, criminal defense and probate law. Ms. Metts began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Newberry County Public Defender's Office. In addition to her law practice, she works as a Magistrate Judge for Richland County and is the Town Attorney for the Town of Carlisle in Union, South Carolina. Ms. Metts earned her B.S. degree from the University of South Carolina and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is admitted to practice in South Carolina and the U.S. District Court. TIMOTHY W. MURPHY is a partner in the firm Kolb & Murphy Attorneys at Law, LLC. His areas of practice include criminal defense, military law, litigation, personal injury, accidents, family law, probate and general practice. Mr. Murphy is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, where he served with the Judge Advocate General Corps. He also is an Assistant Public Defender for Sumter County, where he has successfully represented individuals accused of numerous crimes, including murder, armed robbery, sexual assault and burglary. Mr. Murphy earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, and his M.A. degree from Duquesne University, and his J.D. degree from Duquesne University School of Law. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit and for Veterans Claims, the U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. During his military career, Mr. Murphy prosecuted or defended hundreds of courts-martial at trial and on appeal, including cases under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for murder, rape, robbery, child sexual abuse, assault, drug distribution and drug use. He has lectured on trial advocacy, homeland security law and employment law at various military educational institutions, authored articles on military justice and international relations, edited and co-authored a legal textbook, and authored eight published Civil Law Opinions of the Air Force Judge Advocate General. CHASITY G. STRATTON is a managing partner with the firm of Stratton & Reynolds. LLC, where her areas of practice include elder law, estate planning, probate administration, guardian and conservator proceedings, special needs planning, corporate entity planning, bankruptcy, and family law. Ms. Stratton is a member of the Lexington Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar. She earned her B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of South Carolina and her J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
