January 10 - Greenville CHARLES M. GROVES is an attorney with the law firm of Chapman, Harter & Groves, P.A., where he practices in the areas of civil litigation, business law, Social Security disability and workers' compensation. January 12 - Charleston RONALD LES BLANKENSHIP is an attorney with Finkel Law Firm LLC. Mr. Blankenship brings extensive expertise and experience as an entrepreneur and business executive to his law practice, co-founding two successful network and database engineering companies. His information technology experience spans 19 years, and was supplemented by six years as a nuclear engineering supervisor in the U.S. Navy submarine force. While a full-time law student, Mr. Blankenship acted as the Charleston School of Law's first IT manager, designing and building a state-of-the-art data and communications infrastructure. At the same time, he served on the Moot Court Board and Charleston Law Review. Since joining the Finkel Law Firm LLC in 2008, Mr. Blankenship has managed more than 150 litigated foreclosure matters for several of the largest mortgage companies and servicers in the U.S. In this role he was also instrumental in designing and implementing detailed foreclosure intervention policies, procedures, pleadings, and forms, to comply with recent South Carolina Supreme court administrative orders. PECOY is a member of the McGrath Law Firm's Charleston, South Carolina office and practices in the areas of personal injury, professional malpractice, commercial law, foreclosure/credit defense, insurance bad faith, family law, criminal defense, landlord/tenant issues, administrative law and environmental law. Mr. Pecoy earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from the College of Charleston and his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. SHOOK is a member attorney in the Charleston office of the Finkel Law Firm LLC. Prior to pursuing a legal career, he served the U.S. Navy in a variety of capacities. Mr. Shook is a graduate of Spartanburg Technical College, The University of South Carolina, and The University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, he received the CALI award (formerly the American Jurisprudence Award) in corporate tax, was editor in chief of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal, and was a student member of the John Belton O'Neill Inn of Court and Phi Delta Phi. He wrote "Ninth Circuit Rejects Narrow Interpretation of 'Responsible Corporate Officer'," published as a note in the Spring 1999 edition of the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal, and "The Submarine War in the Pacific," published in the Spring 1996 edition of the War Studies Journal, King's College, London.
