SETH E. BOWERMAN is the president of Bowerman Law Associates, PC, where he concentrates in medical malpractice defense, product liability and employment litigation, and tries cases in state and federal courts. He is a frequent lecturer on medical malpractice issues. Mr. Bowerman is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and received his law degree from Washington University School of Law. He is a member of the Rhode Island, American and Federal bar associations and the Defense Research Institute. FRANCIS A. CONNOR III is an experienced trial and appellate attorney in the federal and state courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He has particular expertise in cases involving professional liability defense, business disputes, insurance and reinsurance issues, as well as catastrophic personal injuries. His peers in the trial bar have recognized Mr. Connor's skill and experience in the courtroom by offering him membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates. Small businesses, professional groups, hospitals, and insurance carriers also consult with him on legislative and risk management matters. Mr. Connor has lectured on trial practice and numerous other topics to local, regional and national groups of attorneys, medical professionals and administrators. He also regularly serves as a mediator and received mediation certification training at both the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the Center for Dispute Settlement in Washington, D.C. Mr. Connor earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Georgetown University. DAVID J. OLIVEIRA maintains a practice in Providence, where he practices in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, construction and surety law, and complex litigation. Mr. Oliveira has written and lectured extensively on medical, personal injury, and trial practice topics for professional and civic groups. He also is an adjunct professor of law and medicine, advanced torts, trial advocacy, and advanced trial advocacy at Roger Williams University School of Law. Mr. Oliveira is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts and American bar associations; the Rhode Island Bar Foundation; the American Association for Justice; the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics; and the Rhode Island Association for Justice. Mr. Oliveira earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Bridgewater State College and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School. ALAN R. TATE is president of Tate Latham & Durant LLC, where he focuses his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense and general litigation, hospital legal counsel, health care law, and employment practices litigation. Mr. Tate earned his B.A. degree from American University and his J.D. degree from Villanova University Law School. He is a member of the American, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts bar associations; The Florida Bar; and the Rhode Island Bar Foundation. GEORGE E. WAKEMAN JR. is a partner in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island law firm of Adler, Cohen, Harvey, Wakeman & Guekguezian, LLP, where he concentrates his practice in the fields of professional negligence and malpractice, product liability, pharmaceutical and medical device liability, repetitive stress liability, general litigation, and the representation of professionals before licensing boards in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He graduated, cum laude, from Princeton University in 1978 and from Suffolk University Law School in 1981. He has been invited to lecture before multiple professional groups and hospitals throughout New England and has written multiple articles and chapters on various issues in the field of tort litigation. Mr. Wakeman has been selected as a Super Lawyer in Massachusetts in 2004-2011, a New England Super Lawyer in 2007-2011, Boston's Best Lawyers in 2007-2011 and was named to the Best Lawyers in America for 2007-2011.
