SAMUEL C. BODURTHA is an attorney with the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, where his practice areas include insurance coverage and insurance defense. Mr. Bodurtha handles all phases of litigation in federal and state courts, including drafting motions and memoranda and preparing matters for hearing. He also manages case discovery plans, evidence and case administration. Mr. Bodurtha is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Bowdoin College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. BROOKS R. MAGRATTEN is a partner with Pierce Atwood LLP, practicing in the areas of commercial, insurance and products liability litigation. Mr. Magratten is the Northeast regional director of the Defense Research Institute and former chair of its Life, Health & Disability Insurance Committee. He also is a member of the FDCC, IADC and ADTA. Mr. Magratten is a former chair of the Federal Bench/Bar Committee of the Rhode Island Bar Association, is the president-elect of the Federal Bar Association (Rhode Island Chapter) and a fellow of the Rhode Island Bar Foundation. Mr. Magratten is the president of the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island. He earned his B.A. degree from Hamilton College, his J.D. degree from Dickinson School of Law and his M.B.A. degree from Bryant College. Mr. Magratten is an adjunct professor at Roger Williams Law School and the editor of the ABA's ERISA Survey of Federal Circuits. JAMES A. RUGGIERI is a partner in the Providence law firm of Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney LLP, where he practices in the areas of labor and employment law, civil litigation, commercial litigation, arbitration, insurance coverage and products liability. Mr. Ruggieri is a frequent lecturer on litigation topics for various professional groups. He earned his A.B. degree from Brown University and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Ruggieri is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts and American bar associations.
