HON. STEPHEN G. BARATTA is a judge with the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County. He was elected in November 1997 for a ten-year term that commenced January 4, 1998. In 2007, Judge Baratta was retained for a second ten-year term. He presides over civil and criminal trials. In addition, Judge Baratta is also the administrative judge for the Northampton County Asbestos Docket. He graduated from Lafayette College and Fordham University School of Law. In 1981, Judge Baratta began his private practice in Easton, Pennsylvania. He is an active participant with the Northampton County Bar Association where he sits on the Bench Bar Committee, the Criminal Rules Committee and the Family Law Committee. HON. SCOTT E. LASH is a judge with the Court of Common Pleas of Berks County. He earned his B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University, his M.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary and his J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. HON. TIMOTHY J. ROWLEY is a judge with the Court of Common Pleas of Berks County. Judge Rowley was elected to the bench in 2007. He received his B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. degree from Golden Gate University. He is a former partner with the firm of Rhoda, Stoudt & Bradley and former president of the firm of Rowley & Goodman, P.C. He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Pennsylvania and Bucks County bar associations. HON. JACQUELINE L. RUSSELL is a judge with the Court of Common Pleas of Schuylkill County. She received her B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. degree from Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University. HON. STEVEN R. SERFASS became Carbon County's 18th judge when he was sworn into office on January 4, 2010, as a judge with the Court of Common Pleas. Prior to his position on the bench, Judge Serfass maintained a general law practice in Palmerton for 14 years, concentrating on municipal law, business law and civil litigation. He received his B.A. degree from Dickinson College and his J.D. degree from Temple University School of Law. MODERATOR - NANCY P. WALLITSCH is a partner in the Allentown firm of Wallitsch & Iacobelli, L.L.P. She graduated from St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing, Baltimore, Maryland, in 1968, and magna cum laude from Cedar Crest College in 1972. After practicing nursing as a critical care and trauma nurse, publishing numerous articles in nursing journals and co-authoring a text in clinical nursing, she graduated from Villanova Law School in 1982. Ms. Wallitsch served as a law clerk to the Honorable Maxwell E. Davison, Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, Lehigh County. From 1985 to 1991, she was an associate with the law firm of Weaver, Mosebach, Piosa, Hixon, Wallitsch & Morales where the emphasis of her practice was civil litigation and family law. Ms. Wallitsch is the past president of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of Lehigh County, and a member of the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. Ms. Wallitsch is the current chair of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee.
