MATTHEW J. CARL is the partner in charge of commercial, corporate, real estate law and estate planning at Blumling & Gusky, LLP. Mr. Carl counsels diverse local, national and international businesses and individuals. He advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters including choice of entity issues, mergers and acquisitions, finance, management, contracting and business succession. Mr. Carl negotiates documents and closes all types of real estate and commercial transactions. He handles and litigates land use and zoning issues and is a licensed title agent for First American Title Insurance Company and Fidelity National Title Insurance Company. Mr. Carl works with his clients to develop estate-planning objectives including business succession, minimizing of estate and inheritance tax liability, preserving family assets, supporting charitable interests, providing for minors and individuals with special needs and drafting wills and trusts to achieve those objectives. In addition, he assists executors and trustees in the administration of decedent's trusts and litigates Orphan's Court matters including will contests, guardianships, adoptions and estate administration disputes. Mr. Carl previously served as chairman of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Committee for Individuals with Disabilities and has participated in the drafting of Pennsylvania guardianship and living wills statutes. Mr. Carl is a member of the American Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association and their Business Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Sections. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Program Committee Chair, Business Law Section). Mr. Carl was named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2005 to 2008 by Law and Politics. He is an adjunct professor at Duquesne University. Mr. Carl received his B.A. degree from the University of Virginia and his J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He is president of the Virginia Club of Pittsburgh. DONALD P. GRAHAM is a partner in the Pennsylvania law firm of Dillon McCandless King Coulter & Graham LLP, where his practice is focused on the areas of land use and real estate development. Mr. Graham received his B.S. degree from St. Francis College and his J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a member of the Allegheny County, Butler County and Pennsylvania bar associations and the Urban Land Institute. JEANETTE E. OLIVER is a member of the Construction and Surety Industry Practice Group at the law firm of Blumling & Gusky, LLP. Ms. Oliver concentrates her practice in the areas of construction and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Blumling & Gusky, Ms. Oliver performed substantial litigation work in both state and federal courts in the area of insurance defense litigation, as well as litigation involving labor and employment matters. Ms. Oliver is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and American bar associations. She is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Oliver received her B.S. degree in business management, magna cum laude, from Grove City College. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. LESLIE A. PETERS is a partner with Blumling & Gusky, LLP, in Pittsburgh, practicing in the firm's real estate and land use practice groups. Ms. Peters represents commercial and industrial clients in zoning, planning and land development matters, as well as sales and leasing. She also represents clients in negotiations and administrative proceedings before municipal governing and zoning boards, authorities and state agencies. Her experience includes representing builders and developers involved with section 1983 actions against municipal corporations and authorities. Ms. Peters is a member of the real property sections of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She earned her B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Widener University School of Law. Ms. Peters has presented various seminars on land use and development issues, including those confronting big box commercial retailers in Pennsylvania. MAUREEN E. SWEENEY is a partner with Blumling & Gusky LLP, where she practices in the firm's construction and surety, real estate and land use, labor and employment, and corporate areas. Ms. Sweeney concentrates her practice in construction, real estate, labor, employment and commercial litigation. She also has a broad range of experience in counseling businesses regarding labor and employment issues, and has defended employers in various employment matters, including alleged breaches of non-competition covenants, discrimination claims and wage payment disputes, as well as labor disputes before the National Labor Relations Board. In addition, Ms. Sweeney has represented business owners and developers in various construction, land use, zoning and development matters before local governmental and zoning bodies concerning projects such as retail shopping centers, restaurants, light industrial facilities, office buildings, and planned residential developments. She has also represented property owners in various eminent domain proceedings. Ms. Sweeney is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American bar associations. A past member of the Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Certification Appeal Board for Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Ms. Sweeney currently serves as a dispute resolution neutral on the American Arbitration Association's National Construction Panel. She is a graduate of Leadership Development Initiative IX, a leadership development and community service program for the Pittsburgh region, as well as the Leadership OnBoard V Program. A member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Chapter 161, she also is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Pittsburgh. Ms. Sweeney serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. She received her B.A. degree with honors and distinction in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her J.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she served as a staff member, and later, as executive editor of the Journal of Law & Commerce, as well as the co-chair of the Women's Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Ms. Sweeney has published several articles and presented various seminars on land use, employment and labor law issues. She was also selected by her peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for the year of 2006. MEGAN TYMOCZKO-KORCH is a member of the Commercial, Corporate, and Real Estate Law Practice Group of the law firm of Blumling & Gusky, LLP. Ms. Tymoczko-Korch concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate law, real estate law and estate planning. She participates in various pro bono activities in the community and is currently a volunteer for the Neighborhood Legal Services Association through which she provides legal representation to victims in PFA actions and volunteers for the Debt Advice Clinic. Ms. Tymoczko-Korch received her B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, her J.D. degree from the Duquesne University School of Law, and her M.B.A. degree from Duquesne University. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association and their Business Law and Real Property, Probate and Trust Sections.
