MICHAEL L. BROOKS M.D. is a neuroradiologist practicing in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University College of Medicine) who completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, in Darby, PA. Following his residency, Dr. Brooks completed a neuroradiology fellowship at the Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women's Hospital and worked as an instructor at Harvard Medical School and staff neuroradiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital before returning to Philadelphia in 1988. From 1988 to 1998, he was associate director of the Graduate Hospital Imaging Center and neuroradiologist for The Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. Since 1998, Dr. Brooks has been the director of neuroradiology for Mercy Medical Imaging (now Mercy Diagnostic Imaging), where he is involved on a daily basis teaching radiology and neurosurgery residents and medical students at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital and Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia. He earned his J.D. degree from the Temple University, Beasley School of Law and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2007. In 2007, Dr. Brooks was voted one of the “Top Doctors” in radiology on the main line in Main Line Today magazine. He has been providing expert witness reviews for plaintiff and defense law firms and insurance companies in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware since 1995. Dr. Brooks also regularly lectures to attorneys and insurance professionals on the topics of spine and brain imaging. He has provided both substantive and ethics CLE lectures to attorneys in Pennsylvania and lectured at the Temple University, Beasley School of Law on expert witness ethics and testimony and understanding and overcoming bias in testimony. MICHAEL D. BROPHY is a partner with Goldberg Segalla LLP, where he concentrates his practice in the defense of medical malpractice and products liability. In recent years, Mr. Brophy has developed a specialty in psychiatric malpractice cases, as well as in traditional medical malpractice litigation. He has been designated as lead trial counsel by health care organizations with both local and national affiliations. Mr. Brophy earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Oneonta and his J.D. degree from Villanova University. He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, the International Association of Defense Council and the American Association of Health Care Lawyers. MARK S. KARDOS is the principal in the law offices of Kardos & Goch, where he practices in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice. Mr. Kardos has litigated several medical malpractice cases to a verdict, some of which have been noted in the Pennsylvania Jury Reporter and the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers' The Verdict. The parties in more than 1,400 cases involving UM and UIM law have chosen him as arbitration chairman. Mr. Kardos is a former instructor of business and real estate law at Temple University. He earned his B.S. degree from Millersville University and his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore Law School. Mr. Kardos is a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. PAUL A. LAURICELLA is a partner with McLaughlin & Lauricella PC. He spent 24 years as an associate and ultimately a partner at The Beasley Firm. Mr. Lauricella practices primarily in the field of medical malpractice, but also devotes a considerable portion of his practice representing victims catastrophically injured by defective products and motor vehicle accidents. He has secured numerous million dollar and multimillion dollar jury verdicts in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. Mr. Lauricella also has successfully litigated intellectual property claims. He is a graduate of Villanova School of Law. Mr. Lauricella is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers' Amicus Curiae Committee. CHAD L. STALLER is the president of The Center for Forensic Economic Studies. His practice focuses primarily on the analysis of, and testimony on, commercial damages (lost profits), personal-injury and wrongful-death damages, and damages and liability in labor and employment matters. Mr. Staller has testified in jury trials, bench trials and arbitration in state and federal courts. He publishes articles and presents seminars on forensic economic topics and lectures at Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law and at Villanova University School of Law. Prior to joining The Center for Forensic Economic Studies, Mr. Staller practiced law, representing a wide range of clients in a variety of matters, including personal injury, product liability, breach of contract and contract interpretation. He also served as law clerk to Judge S. Michael Pincus of the Circuit Court of Montgomery County Maryland. Mr. Staller earned his Masters in Business Administration from the Fox School of Business and Management at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and his Master of Accounting and Professional Consultancy from Villanova University. He is certified as an Accredited Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
