KIM ORLANDO is an attorney in the law firm of Minto Law Group, LLC. Ms. Orlando specializes in all areas of elder care law including, but not limited to, Medicaid eligibility, preserving family assets while qualifying for Medicaid, the Medicaid application and appeals process, estate recovery, qualifying for community-based and in-home care, patient rights in long-term care facilities, family care giver contracts, special needs trusts, inheritance and tax issues, guardianship and long term care insurance. In addition to her elder law practice, she oversees the marketing for Minto Law Group. She received her B.A. degree from St. John's University in Queens, New York, where she graduated magna cum laude. She graduated from Hofstra Law School, in 1991, as the managing editor of the Hofstra Law Review. She is currently a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations' Elder Law sections.
SUSAN PACZAK is an attorney in the Pittsburgh law firm of Abes Baumann. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980, magna cum laude, and from Duquesne University in 1989 receiving her J.D. degree, cum laude. She was a member of the Duquesne Law Review, where she was an associate recent decisions editor. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veteran's Claims, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ms. Paczak practices in the areas of workers' compensation, Social Security disability, and veteran's benefits. She is one of the very few attorneys in Western Pennsylvania who represent veterans. JAMES P. SHIELDS of The Elder Law Offices of Shields & Boris, serves all of western Pennsylvania in the areas of estate planning and elder law. Together, attorneys Mr. Shields and Mr. Boris have more than 19 years of legal experience and have helped over a 1000 families, couples and individuals with estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, probate, special needs planning, Medicaid planning and asset protection from nursing homes. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, NESA and many other national professional organizations.
