BETH L. KING,RP, is a senior litigation paralegal at Vestas-American Wind Technology, Inc., a subsidiary of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the world leader in delivering modern energy. She has extensive experience preparing for and attending trials, arbitrations and hearing in the areas of construction, energy, insurance defense, environmental clean-ups, class actions and business disputes. Ms. King is a contributor to a number of professional publications and is a frequent instructor for legal professionals across the country in case management and organization; ethics; clients communications; legal writing; and litigation, and has been program coordinator for two paralegal training programs in Oregon. She earned her degree in management and organizational leadership from George Fox University and is a PACE registered paralegal. RUTH E. PEAKE is a senior litigation paralegal with Lorber, Greenfield & Polito, LLP, who has more than 20 years of experience in various areas of litigation. She is presently working in the insurance defense construction defect area of law. Over the years, Ms. Peake has been involved in complex civil litigation, employment law, government law, domestic relations, and corporate law. She is proficient in the use of various software programs associated with discovery and trial preparation such as Summation, Eclipse IPRO, Concordance, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ms. Peake works closely with attorneys from inception to conclusion of the litigation. MARCELA SASIK is a project manager at Forensic Building Consultants, where she focuses on managing construction defect cases in litigation. She has more than 15 years of experience in many areas of litigation, including construction litigation, construction defect claims, employment and discrimination claims, corporate and securities litigation, and real estate and land use claims. Ms. Sasik has experience in both state and federal court, including Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho. As a case manager at a construction consulting firm, she assists the attorneys at various law firms with all aspects of construction defect litigation, including interviewing witnesses and clients, conducting research, preparing consulting experts for testimony, preparing trial presentations, and developing trial strategy. Ms. Sasik assists with settlement negotiations, expert meetings, mediations, and trials. She is skilled in the analysis of facts and issues in each case. Ms. Sasik's organizational skills enable her to control large-volume document production and efficiently manage the cases to which she is assigned. She earned her B.S. degree from Portland State University. MARILYN STACEY is a litigation paralegal at Ball Janik LLP, with over 20 years of complex litigation experience, including insurance coverage, environmental, construction defect, employment litigation, asbestos, and clergy abuse cases. She handles all aspects of a case from initial client contact to trial preparation and participation, and considers her role similar to that of a line producer on a film - first in, last out, and responsible for everything in between. Ms. Stacey graduated, cum laude, from Occidental College, Los Angeles. She has been a member of the Oregon Paralegal Association and the Portland Paralegal Master's Group, and has lectured at Portland State University paralegal classes.
