SUSAN P. COOK has been in private practice since 1996, focusing on protective proceedings, estate planning, probate and trust administration. Her practice includes wills, trusts, estate and disability planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and probate matters. Ms. Cook has taught Elder Law at Willamette University College of Law as an adjunct professor since 2000. AMY L. DAVIDSON is an attorney with the Portland law firm of Nay and Friedenberg. Her practice has focused on the area of guardianships and conservatorships, probates, estate planning, and Medicaid planning since 2003. Ms. Davidson has developed a special expertise in pet trusts and planning for our animal-loving clients. In addition, she frequently speaks to community groups on elder law issues. Ms. Davidson is a member of the Oregon State Bar (Elder Law and Estate Planning sections) and Oregon Women Lawyers. She is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the Animal Law Section. Ms. Davidson has contributed to the Oregon State Bar's book on Elder Law and the Elder Law Section Newsletter. She volunteers her time with Elders in Action as well as the Senior Law Project, St Andrews Legal Clinic, and the Lewis & Clark Law School mentor program. Ms. Davidson earned her B.A. degree at the University of Portland and her J.D. degree at Lewis & Clark Northwestern School of Law. RICHARD L. KING is a partner in the estate planning department of the Portland law firm of King and Campbell. His practice emphasizes estate planning, elder law, probate law and business law. Mr. King also is involved in personal injury and general litigation. He earned his B.A. degree at the University of Illinois and his J.D. degree at the University of Illinois School of Law. Mr. King is a member of the Oregon State Bar sections on Estate Planning and Elder Law. MICHAEL D. LEVELLE is an attorney with Sussman Shank LLP and chair of the firm's Estate and Trust Administration/Dispute Resolution Group. He has more than 20 years experience in private practice, concentrating on complex estate planning, estate and trust administration, guardianship and conservatorships, as well as dispute resolution. As an attorney, Mr. Levelle sees his role not only as a legal advisor, but as an active listener so that he can help his clients determine solutions based on their own objectives and values. His practice emphasizes business, estate and trust administration/dispute resolution; estate and wealth preservation planning; fiduciary law; guardianships and conservatorships; mediation (Multnomah County Circuit Court approved civil/probate mediator); and special needs planning. Mr. Levelle carries the preeminent AV designation by Martindale Hubbell® and is a certified mediator, focusing on resolving contested matters involving his areas of practice. He is a frequent author and presenter, and also is dedicated to participating in civic organizations; including his current position on the board of Self Enhancement Inc. and pro bono legal work for Itafari Foundation. Mr. Levelle received his B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Montana and his J.D. degree from Willamette University College of Law. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar and the Washington State Bar Association. CHASE MORINAKA is a solo practitioner in Portland, Oregon. His practice is limited to the areas of estates and elder law, business, and immigration. Mr. Morinaka speaks with local community members on immigration, business and general estate planning matters. He currently serves on the board of the Oregon Minority Lawyers Association and volunteers his time with other local non-profit organizations. Mr. Morinaka also is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He earned his B.S. degree from Linfield College and his J.D. degree from the University of Idaho. J. THOMAS PIXTON is a seasoned elder law and estate planning attorney with 35 years of experience. He attended the University of California at Berkeley, Brigham Young University and earned his J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Mr. Pixton is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Estate Planning and Elder Law sections of the Oregon State Bar, and is also licensed to practice in Washington and California.
