HON. STEVEN P. BEATHARD serves as the sole general division judge in the Fayette County Common Pleas Court. Judge Beathard was elected to the bench in 2005 after 25 years of private law practice, where he focused in the areas of bankruptcy, domestic relations and criminal law. He previously served two terms as the city law director for London, Ohio. He obtained his B.S. degree from The Ohio State University in 1975 and his J.D. degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1978. HON. JOHN F. BENDER is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. From 1978 through 1990, Judge Bender served as the first judge of the Crawford County Municipal Court. Judge Bender previously served on the Franklin County Common Pleas Court in 2000 and was re-appointed to the court in May 2003. Judge Bender was elected to the Franklin County Common Pleas Court in November 2004. He was admitted to practice in 1971 and served six years as a judge advocate officer with the U.S. Army before entering private law practice. Judge Bender earned his B.A. degree at The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, at The Ohio State University College of Law. HON. DAVID W. FAIS is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. He was admitted to practice in 1970. Judge Fais earned his B.S. degree at Otterbein College and his J.D. degree at Ohio Northern University School of Law. HON. RICHARD A. FRYE is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Before taking the bench, he was a partner at Chester Willcox & Saxbe, LLP. Judge Frye is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a life member of the 6th Circuit Judicial Conference. Judge Frye chairs the judges committee that helped guide design and construction of the new Franklin County courthouse. He is one of two judges designated by Chief Justice Moyer to initially handle cases on a pilot project commercial docket. In 2009, he received the George Tyack Award for Judicial Excellence from the Central Ohio Association for Justice. Judge Frye earned his B.A. degree at Wittenberg University and his J.D. degree at The Ohio State University College of Law. HON. MICHAEL J. HOLBROOK is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. He was admitted to practice in 1983. Judge Holbrook earned his B.A. degree at The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree at Capital University Law School. HON. THOMAS M. MARCELAIN presides over the Licking County Common Pleas Court, General Division. He was admitted to practice in 1983. Judge Marcelain earned his B.A. degree at Ashland College and his J.D. degree at Temple University. HON. STEPHEN L. McINTOSH is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. He was admitted to practice in 1984. Judge McIntosh earned his B.A. degree at South Carolina State College and his J.D. degree at The Ohio State University College of Law. HON. CHARLES A. SCHNEIDER is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. Governor Bob Taft appointed him on April 1, 2004. Prior to his present position, Judge Schneider was the administrative and presiding judge of the Franklin County Municipal Court, and prior to that, he was an attorney with the firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease. He is a past chair and current member of North Central Mental Health Services, and past chair and current member of the Advisory Council for the Family Violence Prevention Center for the Office of Criminal Justice. Judge Schneider received his B.A. degree from the University of Michigan, his M.A. degree from Ball State University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University College of Law. HON. RICHARD S. SHEWARD is a judge in the Franklin County Common Pleas Court. He was admitted to practice in 1974. Judge Sheward earned his B.B.A. degree at Ohio University and his J.D. degree at Capital University Law School. MODERATOR - DAVID W. ORLANDINI is an attorney with the Westerville law firm of Brian J. Bradigan, Inc., where he practices in the areas of litigation, product liability, railroad litigation, insurance defense and political subdivision liability. He earned his B.A. degree from Alma College and his J.D. degree from Capital University Law School. Mr. Orlandini is a member of the Columbus (member, Small/Solo Law Firm Section) and Ohio State (member, Board of Directors, Litigation Section) bar associations and the Defense Research Institute (member, Product Liability Section).
