SHERRILLE D. AKIN is an attorney at the law firm of Isaac Brant Ledman & Teetor LLP in Columbus, Ohio. Ms. Akin has practiced in the areas of estate planning, probate administration and trust law, federal and state taxation law, and business and commercial law since 1989. She earned her LL.M. degree, in taxation, from the University of Florida, and her B.A. degree and J.D. degree, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law. CURTIN is an attorney in the Columbus law firm of Hrabcak & Company LPA. He has practiced in the areas of estate planning, probate, tax, income tax and elder law for more than 20 years. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Curtin practiced for 10 years as a certified public accountant (inactive). He wrote an article for the Journal of Pension Planning and Compliance and is a contributing writer for the 2004 Desk Manual on Elder Law. Mr. Curtin is a frequent lecturer on asset protection, probate law, estate planning and taxation for professional groups. He has also lectured for the Ohio Society of CPAs on financial planning and the New York State Society of CPAs on taxation and governmental accounting. Mr. Curtin is a member of the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust section of the Ohio State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Ohio State Society of CPAs. He earned his B.S. degree from Miami University and his J.D. degree from Capital University. KRISTA A. MROCZKOWSKI is an attorney in the New Albany law firm of Demers & Adams, LLC. Ms. Mroczkowski has been an attorney for more than 13 years and concentrates her practice on estate planning and probate law. She is an adjunct professor at Ohio Dominican University, where she teaches classes on personal finance and business law. Ms. Mroczkowski is admitted to practice in Ohio and West Virginia and is a member of the Ohio State, The West Virginia and Columbus bar associations. She earned her B.A. degree from Wheeling Jesuit University and her J.D. degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law. WILLIAM K. ROOT is a partner in the law firm of Resch & Root, LLC. Mr. Root has been an attorney for more than 30 years and limits his practice to estate and wealth strategies planning for individuals and closely held businesses. As a parent of a special needs child, he is also dedicated to planning for families with special needs. Mr. Root is a fellow of the Esperti Peterson Institute and has completed its master’s program in Advanced Estate Planning. He frequently speaks at programs and conferences for professionals in estate planning, and also teaches estate and retirement planning to students in the Family Financial Management Program in the College of Education and Human Ecology at Ohio State University. Mr. Root is a member of the Ohio State and Delaware County bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from Ohio State University and his J.D. degree from Capital University Law School.
