PAUL ALLAER is a partner in the Corporate Transactions and Securities and International practice groups of Thompson Hine LLP, where his practice focuses on international corporate and trade matters, including international mergers and acquisitions, agency and distribution, know-how licensing and joint venture transactions. He also works extensively with foreign companies expanding and investing in the United States. Mr. Allaer is admitted to practice in Ohio, Brussels, Belgium, and Georgia. Mr. Allaer earned his B.A. degree from the University of Antwerp, Belgium; his J.D. degree from the University of Louvain, Belgium; his LL.M. degree from American University, Washington College of Law and his M.C.L. degree from The George Washington University Law School. JACK F. FUCHS is a partner in the Cincinnati law firm of Thompson Hine LLP, where his main areas of practice are professional liability litigation, ERISA litigation and fiduciary litigation. He has lectured on professional liability and a variety of ERISA matters. Mr. Fuchs earned his B.A. degree from the University of Chicago, and his J.D. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio State, Kentucky, American and Federal bar associations. KENNETH R. NILSESTUEN is a Certified Public Accountant for Grant Thornton LLP, where he has been based for more than 30 years. Approximately 20 years of Mr. Nilsestuen's career has been in public accounting, nearly all of which was with Big 4 firms; most of the remainder has been as the head of public multinational corporate tax departments. He has extensive experience in international tax matters; including outbound and inbound, transaction planning, compliance, cash management, due diligence and managing effective tax rates. Mr. Nilsestuen has a deep understanding of the financial reporting issues associated with international tax strategies and operations. He is actively involved in assisting clients in understanding the broad financial reporting ramifications of their global tax structures. Mr. Nilsestuen earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. JOHN B. PINNEY is the senior trial lawyer in the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution Client Services Department of Graydon Head, and chairs the International Practice Group, focusing on international dispute resolution. He has practiced in state and federal courts and before arbitration tribunals in approximately 35 states and foreign countries. Mr. Pinney is a frequent speaker on enforcement of judgments and on international commercial arbitration. He is a member of the American (Litigation, International and Dispute Resolution sections), Federal, Ohio State (past chair, Federal Courts Committee), Kentucky, International (Dispute Resolution Section), Cincinnati (Grievance Committee) and Northern Kentucky bar associations, the State Bar of Michigan, the American Arbitration Association, the London Court of International Arbitration, the International Arbitration Committee of CPR Institute and the Center for Resolution of Disputes (Panel of Arbitrators). ROSS E. WALES is a partner at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where his primary area of practice is in the Business and Finance Department; he is also chair of the firm's International Practice area. He is admitted to the bar of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. He currently splits his time between Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP's Cincinnati and Beijing offices. VICTOR J. WASYLYNA is a patent attorney at Walters & Wasylyna, LLC. He focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including the assessment, procurement, transfer and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the United States and around the world. Mr. Wasylyna is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His previous lecture experience includes speaking on "Intellectual Property Rights in China" at the Doing Business in China Certification Program at Miami University. Mr. Wasylyna earned his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. He is a member of the Dayton Intellectual Property Law Association and the Ukrainian American Bar Association. PEI ZHANG practices in the Corporate Department of Frost Brown Todd LLC, where she has experience in Cross-Border Transactions, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Corporate Finance. She earned her bachelor's degree from Beijing University, School of Law and her J.D. degree from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. Ms. Zhang counsels domestic and foreign clients regarding issues arising out of many types of cross-border transactions. As a native Chinese, she is specifically knowledgeable with regard to various commercial transactions between the United States and China, such as joint venture, foreign direct investment M&A, franchise and distribution.
