JAMES C. BATES is a partner in the Medina law firm of Bates & Perry Co., LPA. Since 1997, Mr. Bates has limited his practice to the areas of estate planning (trusts, both revocable and irrevocable, wills, and powers of attorney), estate administration, (trust settlement, probate and guardianships), retirement tax planning and business succession planning. He is frequent speaker on estate planning and elder law topics. Mr. Bates is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Elder Law Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association, the Probate Law Section of the Akron Bar Association, and is a member of the Akron Bar Lawyer Referral and Information Service. He earned his B.A. degree from Miami University and his J.D. degree from the University of Akron School of Law. MARGARET H. KREINER is an attorney in Cuyahoga Falls, where she concentrates her 26 years of practice in the field of elder law, including the areas of probate, wills, trusts, living wills and durable powers of attorney for health care, Medicare, Medicaid, estate planning and guardianships. Ms. Kreiner is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. She is the author of the book Ohio Elder Law; part of Baldwin's Ohio Handbook Series published by West and also has written articles on elder law issues that have been published by several magazines and bar associations. Ms. Kreiner is a member of the Akron, Ohio State and American bar associations, and The Florida Bar, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, including the Ohio NAELA Chapter. She earned her B.S. degree from Kent State University, and her M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Akron. DANIEL P. SEINK is the founder and managing partner of Daniel P. Seink Co. Ltd. Mr. Seink is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, which is the only certification accredited by the American Bar Association and the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists. He devotes his practice primarily to those issues uniquely affecting the elderly, the disabled and their families. Mr. Seink is the contributing editor to the Elder Law Handbook published by the Ohio State Bar Association. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and serves as a Board Member of the Ohio Chapter of NAELA. Mr. Seink also is a member the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Section of the Ohio State Bar Association, and is a Sub-Committee Chair of the Elder Law Committee for the Ohio State Bar Association. He volunteers as a speaker for the Alzheimer's Association and is a frequent lecturer to legal, financial, health and tax professionals. Mr. Seink earned his B.A. degree from John Carroll University, and his J.D. degree, with honors, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
