December 20 - Youngstown DENNIS J. BARTEK is the founder of the Bartek Law Office, which handles cases in wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, business litigation, insurance coverage, litigation, criminal law and mediation in state, federal, and appellate courts. Mr. Bartek has spoken at numerous seminars and short courses, professional leadership seminars, workshops, and conferences on all aspects of trial practice. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Akron. He was admitted to practice law in Ohio in 1971. Mr. Bartek has also been admitted to the practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio; the U.S. Supreme Court; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit. Prior to establishing his own firm, he served the community as an Assistant Prosecutor for Summit County. Additionally, he served as acting judge for Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court by periodic assignment for 14 years. Mr. Bartek is a member and past president of the Akron Bar Association; a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, and past member of its Council of Delegates; and a member of the Ohio Association for Justice; American Association for Justice; the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the Federal ADR Panel for the Northern District of Ohio; and the Scanlon-Bell Inn of Court (Master of the Bench), for which he has just been named President Elect. He is a graduate of the Justice Institute and has been a recipient of both the University of Akron School of Law Outstanding Alumni Award and Akron Bar Association Professionalism Award. Mr. Bartek has been selected as a Leading Lawyer by Inside Business Magazine and one of Ohio's Super Lawyers by Law & Politics Magazine on numerous occasions. ADAM E. CARR is the managing partner of The Carr Law Office, LLC in Hudson. Mr. Carr defends and prosecutes civil cases of all types, especially personal injury and wrongful death, insurance coverage, contracts, complex civil litigation, and appeals. He also evaluates claims and provides written opinions on questions of liability, damages, and insurance coverage. Mr. Carr is board-certified as a civil trial lawyer by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA), he has an American Jurisprudence Award in appellate practice, and he is recognized as an insurance coverage expert in Ohio Super Lawyers 2010 & 2011. He has served as first-chair lead counsel in hundreds of trials and arbitrations, participated as lead counsel in over fifty reported appellate decisions, and appeared in court in most of Ohio's counties. He wrote three chapters of the first edition of the only commercially available treatise on Ohio tort law, Baldwin's Ohio Practice: Tort Law. Mr. Carr is a member of the DRI- the Voice of the Defense Bar; the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys; the Cleveland Association of Civil Trial Attorneys; the National Board of Trial Advocacy; and the Ohio State, Akron, and Lake County bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from Rice University and his J.D. degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. KIMBERLEE J. KMETZ is a partner in the Akron law firm of Curtin & Kmetz, LLP. Ms. Kmetz has been an attorney for more than 15 years and focuses her practice on personal injury, insurance and workers' compensation law. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Ohio State, Mahoning County and Trumbull County bar associations. Ms. Kmetz has served as a member of ATLA's Student Trial Advocacy Committee, working with law schools to foster trial advocacy programs and competitions. She earned her B.A. degree from Youngstown State University and her J.D. degree from the University of Akron School of Law. December 21 - Cleveland KEVIN L. LENSON is an attorney with the law firm of Elk & Elk Co., Ltd. Mr. Lenson focuses his practice on auto accidents, workplace intentional torts, and premises liability. He passed the Ohio bar in 1996 and has worked for two plaintiffs' law firms in Northeast Ohio since. Mr. Lenson is a member of the Ohio Association for Justice and the Ohio State Bar Association. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and his J.D. degree from the University of Toledo. DAVID P. STADLER is a co-founder and member of the Cleveland law firm of Ankuda, Stadler, Moeller & Tyminski, LLC, where he focuses his practice on insurance defense. Mr. Stadler has tried over 50 cases throughout the state of Ohio, including those involving claims of wrongful death and other catastrophic injuries. In addition, he has argued numerous cases in appellate courts throughout the state. Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Stadler worked as both a casualty adjuster and claim manager for the Allstate Insurance Company. He is a member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan bar associations. Mr. Stadler earned his B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. degree from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He has been selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers - Rising Star Edition for 2011 by the publishers of Super Lawyers Magazine. JAMES J. TUREK is co-chair of the Trucking and Commercial Transportation Practice Group of Reminger Co., L.P.A. His litigation practice is focused in the areas of insurance law, trucking and transportation, general liability law, and catastrophic injury litigation. Mr. Turek has tried more than 75 cases, many of them involving catastrophic injuries and damages. He has frequently lectured on various legal matters, including litigation and mediation techniques. Mr. Turek has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer and one of The Best Lawyers in America. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the American Trucking Association, the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Transportation Industry Defense Association. Mr. Turek earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Cincinnati and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University.
