TIMOTHY E. COWANS is a partner with the law firm of Scott, Scriven & Wahoff LLP. He practices in the areas of labor and employment law, and workers' compensation. Mr. Cowans is a frequent speaker and author on labor and employment law and workers' compensation issues. He is a certified specialist in workers' compensation by the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. Cowans was recently named an Ohio Super Lawyer in the labor and employment law area. Mr. Cowans received his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from Ohio Dominican University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from The Ohio State University. He is a member of the Columbus (Workers' Compensation Committee) and Ohio State (Workers' Compensation Committee) bar associations. PAUL DISANTIS joined Dawson, Disantis & Myers, LLC, as a member in June 2007. As a member of Dawson, Disantis & Myers, LLC, Mr. Disantis focuses his practice on workers' compensation defense, employment law and professional licensure defense. A native of Parma Heights, Ohio, he relocated to Columbus to attend Capital University Law School. After graduation, Mr. Disantis spent several years in the private sector working exclusively in the field of workers' compensation. He went on to work as an assistant attorney general representing the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services as well as the Ohio Department of Insurance. He returned to the private sector where his practice expanded to include health care litigation. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and Delaware County Bar Association. JIM MALEK is a partner in the Columbus law firm of Malek & Malek. Mr. Malek has been an attorney for more than 15 years and focuses his practice on representing claimants in workers compensation matters. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Association for Justice, the Central Ohio Association for Justice and the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Malek earned his B.S. degree from The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. JANIS B. ROSENTHAL is a partner in the law firm of Thompson Hine LLP, in the labor & employment practice group. She focuses her practice on workers' compensation law and represents employers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and state courts. Ms. Rosenthal has spoken throughout the state of Ohio at the request of the Ohio State Bar Association State Convention, Central Ohio-Self Insurers Association, Northern Ohio Self-Insurers, Project Head Start Coordinators, Columbus Bar Association, Southwest Ohio Self-Insurers, Ohio Self-Insurers Schools, Ohio Council of Retail Merchants, Professional Development Institute, Institute of Business Law and National Business Institute. She earned her B.A. degree from Indiana University, Phi Beta Kappa, and her J.D. degree from the University of Cincinnati.
