ALBERT G. HEHR III is a partner in the Independence law firm of Hehr & Myers Co., L.P.A. He is an elder law attorney and a member of the WealthCounsel and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. After serving as a police officer for more than 13 years, Mr. Hehr partnered in Hehr & Myers Co., L.P.A. to focus in proactive law, helping clients solve problems before they occur. In addition to providing counsel and ongoing education for Hehr & Myers clients, Mr. Hehr provides continuing education in estate and Medicaid planning for executors, trustees, those with power of attorney and other decision makers. He earned his B.A. degree from Cleveland State University and his J.D. degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. RICHARD A. MYERS JR. is a 1988 graduate of Cleveland Marshall College of Law and is an experienced trial attorney who has served as lead counsel in dozens of criminal and civil jury trials and over hundreds of hearings in numerous counties in Ohio. He also was an acting magistrate with the Medina Municipal Court from 1994-2000. With the founding of Hehr & Myers Co., L.P.A., his focus changed from litigation to proactive estate and Medicaid planning. An experienced lead attorney in Medicaid Asset Preservation and Elder Law advisor, Mr. Myers conducts workshops and works directly with several senior care providers and fraternal organizations assisting families in the establishment of an estate plan that will maximize the protection of acquired wealth and maintaining the highest quality of life in their retirement. He is a member of the Wealth Counsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Ohio State Bar Association (Estate Planning Committee) and several local bar associations. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve and their Quality of Life Committee. LAURIE G. STEINER is a partner in the Cleveland law firm of Budish, Solomon, Steiner & Peck, Ltd., where she practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, taxation and elder law. Ms. Steiner has spoken to social workers and caseworkers at the Cuyahoga Community College for a three day seminar titled “Legal Issues and the Elderly.” She has also spoken on legal and financial issues for the elderly at the National Guardianship Association 2005 NGA Annual Conference. Ms. Steiner earned her B.A. degree from the College of Wooster and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She is a member of the Cleveland (member, Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law sections); Akron; Ohio State (member, Probate and Trust Law Section); and the American (member, Real Property, Probate, Trust Law and Taxation sections) bar associations; and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. BARBARA WEINSCHENK is an attorney at Weinschenk Law, LLC, in Canal Fulton, Ohio. The primary focus of her practice is elder law including estate planning, special needs planning, Medicaid planning, guardianship, wills and trusts, advance directives and probate law. Prior to entering legal practice, Ms. Weinschenk became a registered nurse and worked as a manager in the utilization department of a managed care health insurance company and also practiced as a clinical nurse in the intensive care and dialysis departments. She also served as an instructor of nursing at Aultman Hospital. Ms. Weinschenk is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Elder Law Committee of the Ohio Bar Association, and the Academy of Special Needs Planners. She is a frequent lecturer on advanced directives and has also lectured on Medicaid planning, estate planning and special needs planning. Ms. Weinschenk earned her B.S.N. degree, summa cum laude, at Ashland University and her J.D. degree at the University of Akron. She is a member of Wealth Counsel, Elder Counsel, and the Ohio Forum.
