DOUGLAS V. BARTMAN is a sole practitioner in Cleveland. He focuses his practice on construction, employment and commercial litigation. Mr. Bartman advises owners, developers, and contractors concerning construction contracts, disputes during construction, and litigating and arbitrating all manners of construction claims after completion. He defends employers in state and federal courts and administrative agencies against claims of federal and state labor law violations, including age, race, disability, sexual discrimination, and harassment. Mr. Brauer is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association's Council of Delegates and is active in the American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice section. RONALD M. McMILLAN is a senior attorney in the law firm of Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, in Cleveland, Ohio. He is an experienced civil litigator whose practice focuses primarily on construction litigation, tort litigation and contract litigation. Mr. McMillan is skilled in all aspects of the litigation process, including conducting discovery and depositions, trial and appellate work, and arbitration and mediation. In addition to court appearances, he has conducted numerous hearings before the American Arbitration Association. As a member of the firm's construction practice group, Mr. McMillan counsels and represents public and private owners, contractors and subcontractors in several different contexts related to various types of construction projects both in and outside of Ohio. MENDOZA is a partner in the law firm Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, where he is an experienced business and commercial litigator. His practice is focused primarily in the areas of insurance coverage, construction, business claims, products liability and toxic tort litigation. Mr. Mendoza has first chair experience in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, trial work, and appellate briefing and argument. RUSSELL O'ROURKE is a founding member of O'Rourke & Associates Co., L.P.A., where the primary focus of his practice is the representation of businesses related to the construction industry, devoting a substantial amount of time to contract negotiation, on the job dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation, litigation, mechanics' liens and bond claims. He has been a regular speaker on construction law topics for numerous trade organizations, including the Builders Exchange of Cleveland, the Mechanical and Plumbers Industry Council, the Electrical League of Ohio, the Construction Employers Association, the Door and Hardware Institute, the American Arbitration Association, and the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. O'Rourke has been a lecturer at Lakeland Community College in the areas of business and real estate law. He wrote the book Ohio Mechanics' Liens and Materialmen's Liens, 3rd Edition. After being a director for two terms, Mr. O'Rourke is now the vice president of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the American Subcontractor's Association (ASA) and also its chapter attorney; a board member of the Ohio Subcontractors' Council; member of the national ASA Attorneys' Counsel; and has been elected to a second term as board member of the national ASA. Mr. O'Rourke earned his B.A. degree from the University of Vermont and his J.D. degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. ROB R. REMINGTON is a partner and career-long member of the law firm of Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he is founder and chair of the firm's construction law practice group, co-chair of the litigation area, and a member of the firm's Board of Directors. His areas of practice include construction law representing contractors, owners, lenders, design professionals and sureties, including acting as regional construction counsel to an international specialty contractor. Mr. Remington has significant experience in all aspects of construction disputes, construction contracts, claims management, and avoidance and construction insurance issues. He is currently the co-chair of the Real Estate Litigation Committee and a past co-chair of the Construction Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. In 2000 and 2002, Mr. Remington was awarded outstanding subcommittee chair by the ABA Section of Litigation, and in 2003 he and his co-chair received the ABA Award of Excellence for their work as chairs of the Construction Litigation Committee. He also is a member of the ConsensusDOCS Green Addendum Taskforce of the AGC, American Bar Fellows, the Panel for Large and Complex Cases for the American Arbitration Association, former chair of the AAA Regional Construction Advisory Counsel, a member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, and Neutral for the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution.
