SHAWN T. BIESIADA is an attorney in Toledo, Ohio, where his main areas of practice include collections, foreclosure, real estate and consumer law. He has spoken on collecting judgments for the Lucas County Bar Association and for National Business Institute. Mr. Biesiada has performed foreclosure work for development companies and local lenders, and collection work for the state attorney general's office in their revenue recovery department. HENDERSHOTT is the Owner and Chief Managing Attorney of the Law Office of Patrick D. Hendershott, LLC. He first became involved in creditor's rights and bankruptcy law while in law school, where he was a judicial intern for Judge Richard L. Speer, Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division. Prior to opening his own law office in September of 2001, Mr. Hendershott practiced for seven years with a large law firm where he represented lending institutions in bankruptcy, creditor's rights, eviction, foreclosure, lender liability and litigation throughout Ohio. He also represented individual debtors in chapters 7 and 13, as well as corporations in chapter 11 bankruptcies. During that time he also represented insurance companies and individuals conducting first chair litigation of civil matters including wrongful death and multiparty fire litigation matters. Mr. Hendershott received his B.B.A. degree, cum laude, and his J.D. degree from the University of Toledo, where he was a Technical Editor for The University of Toledo Law Review. Mr. Hendershott is admitted to the Ohio Supreme Court and all United States District Courts for Ohio and Michigan. He is a past chairperson for the Toledo Bar Association Bankruptcy Committee and is a regular seminar speaker presenting to attorneys throughout Ohio on bankruptcy and foreclosure matters for organizations such as The Ohio Bar Association, The Toledo Bar Association, and National Business Institute. MELISSA A. JONES is an attorney with the Cleveland law firm of Frantz Ward LLP, where her practice focuses on creditors' rights and collections law. Ms. Jones has extensive experience in all phases of commercial debt collection and judgment execution, including drafting credit agreements, perfecting and enforcing security interests and lien rights, negotiating effective payment plans, litigating debt, obtaining judgments, filing and foreclosing judgment liens and locating, seizing and garnishing assets. She also represents manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, contractors and owners in construction collection disputes, including mechanic's lien claims, public work attested account claims and performance and payment bond claims. Ms. Jones routinely advises clients on all aspects of lien protection, preservation and enforcement procedures, and is experienced in prosecuting and defending lien foreclosure proceedings. She is a member of the Ohio State, Cleveland Metropolitan, Akron and American bar associations. Ms. Jones earned her B.A. degree from The Ohio State University and her J.D. degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
