BERNARD I. AGIN is a shareholder in the Beachwood, Ohio, law firm of Agin and Agin Co. L.P.A. He is also a partner in the accounting firm of Agin and Agin, devoting the majority of his practice to business valuations, assessment of economic damages, probate, taxation and business law. Mr. Agin is a certified public accountant and a certified valuation analyst. He has written articles for the Domestic Relations Journal of Ohio, and has been a frequent lecturer in the areas of business valuations, understanding the complexities of personal and business tax returns and the assessment of economic damages, which have included written articles for the lectures presented. Mr. Agin also has been a lecturer for the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts on the areas of economics and statistics. He earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University, his M.A. degree from The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University. Mr. Agin has served as special master, receiver and court appointed appraiser in numerous domestic relations cases. He has been accepted as a court approved appraiser for business interests by probate court. JAMES S. AUSSEM is a partner with Cavitch Familo & Durkin Co., LPA, and focuses his practice primarily in succession planning, business and estates and trusts. His extensive background includes helping closely-held businesses with mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, as well as complex tax issues. Mr. Aussem is a sought-after speaker, facilitator and instructor for many professional organizations on topics such as business succession, estate planning, insurance and trusts and estates. He has spoken at the Cleveland Estate Planning Institute, the AICPA Advanced Planning Institute, the Cleveland Tax Institute, the Ohio Accounting Show, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Northern Ohio Planned Giving Day. Active in many civic and professional organizations, Mr. Aussem is a director of the Cleveland Society of Financial Service Professionals, serving as its president for the year 2010-2011, and serves on the Planned Giving Committees of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the American Cancer Society and Baldwin-Wallace College, which in 2004 presented him with its Distinguished Alumni Award. He also is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan bar associations, and the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland. Mr. Aussem was listed as an Ohio Super Lawyer in 2005 and 2006, and was chosen as One of America's Best Lawyers for 2010 and 2011. NELDER, CPA, CFE, is the founding member of Fraud Solutions, LLC, which specializes in the prevention and detection of white collar fraud. Mr. Nelder is a certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner with more than 20 years of experience assisting clients with issues of occupational fraud and abuse. He spent the first seven years of his career as an internal auditor for several manufacturing and consumer products companies. In this role, Mr. Nelder combines his accounting, auditing and investigative skills to analyze and interpret business and financial evidence. He has conducted fraud examinations as a member of the litigation advisory services practice of a Big Four accounting firm and was most recently director of Forensic Accounting Services. Throughout his career, Mr. Nelder has helped his clients recover in excess of 50 million dollars in illicit funds as a result of his thorough and professional investigations. He is a former president of the Cleveland Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a current member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
