R. RUSSELL O'ROURKE is a founding member of O'Rourke & Associates Co., L.P.A., where the primary focus of his practice is the representation of businesses related to the construction industry, devoting a substantial amount of time to contract negotiation, on the job dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation, litigation, mechanics' liens and bond claims. Mr. O'Rourke has been a regular speaker on construction law topics for numerous trade organizations, including the Builders Exchange of Cleveland, the Mechanical and Plumbers Industry Council, the Electrical League of Ohio, the Construction Employers Association, the Door and Hardware Institute, the American Arbitration Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. He has been a lecturer at Lakeland Community College in the areas of business and real estate law. Mr. O'Rourke wrote the book Ohio Mechanics' Liens and Materialmen's Liens, 3rd Edition. After being a director for two terms, he is now the vice president of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the American Subcontractor's Association (ASA) and also its chapter attorney; a board member of the Ohio Subcontractors' Council; member of the national ASA Attorneys' Counsel; and has been elected to a second term as board member of the national ASA. Mr. O' Rourke is an active member of the American Bar Association-Construction Law Forum and Builders Exchange. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Vermont and his J.D. degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. MICHAEL J. WARRELL is of counsel to the Independence law firm of O'Rourke & Associates Co., L.P.A., where he practices in civil litigation, arbitration, mediation, construction contracts, construction claims and mechanics' liens. Mr. Warrell is an adjunct professor at Cleveland State University, where he is currently teaching remedies and Ohio civil procedure and mediation. He earned his B.A. degree from Swarthmore College and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University. Mr. Warrell is a prior member of the Construction Industry Advisory Council and Commercial Advisory Council of the American Arbitration Association.
