HON. PHILIP V. CORTESE is a family court judge with Montgomery County. He was appointed in 2003 and will retain until 2012. Prior to his appointment, he was in private law practice. Judge Cortese was Corporate Counsel for the City of Amsterdam from 1988 to 1992 and from 1996 to 2003. Judge Cortese earned his B.A. degree from Georgetown University, his M.P.A. degree from Syracuse University and his J.D. degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center. HON. COURTENAY W. HALL is the Acting Supreme Court Justice for the Saratoga County Family Court. Judge Hall was designated as an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court by the State's Chief Administrative Judge in 2000. In this duty, he has presided over more than 200 contested matrimonial actions and other civil proceedings. Judge Hall is also a Family Court Judge for the New York State Unified Court System, Ballston Spa, New York. In March 1998, the Governor appointed him to a family court vacancy and in November 1998, he was elected to a full term. He was elected family court judge for the Saratoga County Family Court in 1999 and was re-elected in 2009 and will retain until 2018. Judge Hall is one of 11 members appointed by New York's Chief Judge to the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Assistance Trust of the State Bar Association. HON. GERARD E. MANEY is an Acting Supreme Court Justice, Supervising Judge of the Family Courts in the Third Judicial District, and Albany County Family Court Judge in Albany, New York. He has served as Family Court Judge since 1991 and was appointed Supervising Judge in 2002. In 2002, Judge Maney established the Albany County Family Treatment Court. Prior to his election to the bench, Judge Maney was Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Albany, New York, and was associated with the law firm of Scheiberling, Rogan & Maney. Judge Maney is past president of the Albany County Bar Association and is currently on the Board of Directors for the NYS Family Court Judges Association and is a member of Albany Law School's Government Law Center Advisory Board. HON. JONATHAN D. NICHOLS is a judge with Columbia County (Multi-Bench, County, Surrogate's, Family). He was appointed in 2004 by Governor George E. Pataki and will retain until 2013. He was a County Attorney for Columbia County from 2002 to 2003. From 1990 to 2003, he was the principal of Connor Curran and Schram, P.C. Judge Nichols received his B.S. degree from Western New England College and his J.D. degree from Western New England Law School. HON. ELIZABETH M. WALSH is a family court judge with the Rensselaer Family Court Family Court Center. She was appointed in 2010 and will retain until 2019. Judge Walsh earned her B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her J.D. degree from the City College of the City University of New York. HON. MARGARET T. WALSH was elected to the Albany County Family Court in November 2004. Prior to that, she maintained a private practice and served on both the Law Guardian and Assigned Counsel panels in Albany County. Judge Walsh received her B.A. degree from Manhattan College and her J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School. MODERATOR - JENNIFER J. CORCORAN is a partner with Tully Rinckey, PLLC and concentrates her practice in the areas of family and matrimonial law, elder law, and trusts and estates. She is the former Deputy Chief Clerk of the Albany County Surrogate's Court. Ms. Corcoran is a frequent speaker at various bar association conferences and seminars. Ms. Corcoran is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Elder Law, Family Law and Trusts and Estates Sections), the Capital District Women's Bar Association, the Albany County Bar Association and the Collaborative Divorce Association of the Capital District.
