WILLIAM CONSIDINE is division vice president and program manager, New York insurance programs, for the American Arbitration Association. He heads the New York no-fault and SUM arbitration forums of the AAA. Mr. Considine is an attorney admitted to practice in New York. Previous positions include New York no-fault arbitrator; and general counsel and deputy commissioner for legal affairs, New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission. He has taught administrative law at Pace Law School. Mr. Considine is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School and Stanford University. He is a member of the Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law sections of the New York State Bar Association. In the past ten years, Mr. Considine has served on the Transportation Law Committee, the Environmental Law Committee and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. BRETT HAUSTHOR has been a full-time New York no-fault arbitrator since 1999. He has also been an active participant in the no-fault arbitration system since 1983. Mr. Hausthor was a previous partner in the law firm of Hayt, Hayt & Landau, where he was in charge of the no-fault arbitration practice and the firm's commercial, consumer and healthcare collection litigation department. He was actively involved in the discharge planning, guardianship and Medicaid litigation practice representing healthcare facilities throughout New York State. He has lectured on various no-fault issues before the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the Queens County Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Hausthor is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Court of the Eastern and Southern districts of New York. He earned his B.A. degree from Adelphi University and his J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law. MITCHELL LUSTIG is an attorney in the law firm of Bruno, Gerbino & Soriano, LLP. Mr. Lustig has more than 25 years of experience with areas of practice in insurance and no-fault insurance. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Buffalo School of Law. Mr. Lustig is the author of numerous articles published in the New York Law Journal and New York State Journal regarding various issues of insurance law. STEVEN J. NEUWIRTH is a partner at the law firm of Baker, Sanders, Barshay, Grossman, Fass, Muhlstock & Neuwirth, L.L.C. Mr. Neuwirth brings extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of no-fault insurance and labor and employment law. He has vast experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, employment and public accommodation discrimination, as well as wage and hour and unemployment law. Mr. Neuwirth offers years of experience in insurance law having practiced at defense firms prior to joining the law firm. He currently supervises and handles day-to-day legal operations, appears regularly in all courts and handles all facets of litigation. A graduate of SUNY at Stony Brook and New York Law School, Mr. Neuwirth is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of New York, Southern District of New York and the District of New Jersey, as well as the state courts of New York and New Jersey. He appears regularly in the federal and state courts, as well as at various administrative and arbitration proceedings. Mr. Neuwirth regularly lectures attorneys and judges on the practice of law in no-fault litigation in the New York State and local bar associations. He also appears before medical groups on no-fault and other matters of concern to medical providers. Mr. Neuwirth is an active member of the Queens County Bar Association, where he serves on the Civil Court Committee. He regularly meets with judges and court staff to effectuate the interests of his clients. He served as a small claims arbitrator in New York City Civil Court, Queens County and Suffolk County District Court. Additionally, Mr. Neuwirth volunteers as a moot court judge for the annual National Wagner Moot Court Competition. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Kings Park Jewish Center as its executive vice president. GAIL L. RITZERT is a partner in the New York law firm of Havkins Rosenfeld Ritzert & Varriale, LLP, where she focuses her practice on insurance coverage and insurance defense matters, concentrating in both the coverage and defense of catastrophic injury cases arising from construction accidents, products and premises defects and the defense of municipalities. She is a frequent speaker on matters related to insurance defense and personal injury for National Business Institute, the Defense Research Institute, the Defense Association of New York and the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Ritzert is a member of the Suffolk County, Nassau County and Connecticut bar associations. She is also a member of The District of Columbia Bar, the Defense Association of New York (past president) and the Defense Research Institute (has served as the New York State representative). She earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Pfeiffer College, her M.Ed. degree from Frostburg State University and her J.D. degree from St. John's University. JOHN J. ROSSILLO is a member of the law firm of Rossillo Licata P.C., where his areas of practice within insurance and self-insured defense include no-fault, personal injury, subrogation and uninsured/underinsured motorist. He was responsible for the coordination, preparation and trial/arbitration of many cases that have established the standard for investigating, defending against and prosecuting insurance fraud. Mr. Rossillo has successfully defended carrier interest under the no-fault endorsement of its policies, from inception through trial and on appeal, on a variety of complex fraud defenses/to wit: staged/causes of accident rings and the fraudulent incorporation of professional medical corporations, as well as issues of medical necessity, policy exclusions and conditions precedent to making a claim. He also has defended the interest of our clients in negligence actions, from inceptions through trial. Mr. Rossillo regularly lectures on such topics as no-fault reimbursement, subrogation and insurance fraud and pitfalls for the no-fault practitioner. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court of the Eastern and Southern districts of New York. Mr. Rossillo earned his B.A. degree from Fordham University and his J.D. degree from CUNY Law School at Queens College.
