RICHARD G. COMPSON is the managing partner of the Utica law firm of Compson, Eannace & Pierro, PLLC, where he practices in the areas of business law, estate planning, wills, trusts and taxation. He is a former adjunct professor of contracts and commercial law at Utica College. Mr. Compson is a member of the Oneida County (chairman of Trusts, Estate and Elder Law Committee, past president), New York State (member, Trusts, Estate and Elder Law Section) and American bar associations. He is also a member of The Florida Bar and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Mr. Compson earned his A.B. degree from Franklin & Marshall College and his J.D. degree from the University of Miami. AMI S. LONGSTREET is a partner with Mackenzie Hughes LLP, where she helps businesses and members of the Syracuse community understand estate and trust planning and administration, as well as elder law, including asset protection and Medicaid planning, and planning for individuals with disabilities. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Vermont and worked in Vermont as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for two years. After that, she attended Syracuse University College of Law and earned her J.D. degree, cum laude. While a student, she was a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society and the Syracuse University Law Journal of International Law. Ms. Longstreet is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of New York) and the U.S. Court of Appeals (2nd Circuit). She is a member of the Onondaga County Bar Association, the Central New York Women's Bar Association, and the New York State (Elder Law Section - past president and Trusts and Estates Section) and American (Real Property, Probate and Trusts and Tax sections) bar associations. Ms. Longstreet is also a volunteer speaker for the New York State, Onondaga County and Central New York Women's bar associations, as well as other nonprofit organizations. She is a board member of the Estate Planning Council of Central New York and a chair of the Governance Council of the Women's Fund of Central New York, a Fund of the Central New York Community Foundation. Ms. Longstreet was also a board member of the YMCA Greater Syracuse, and from 1996 to 1999, served as an adjunct professor of Elder Law at Syracuse University College of Law. She has been listed in the Elder Law Section of Best Lawyers in America for 2007, 2008 and 2009 and was elected as a Fellow in ACTEC (American College of Trust and Estate Counsel). DAVID J. ZUMPANO attended LeMoyne College and began his professional career with Price Waterhouse as a staff accountant. He graduated from Syracuse College of Law and started his legal career with a regional law firm. After two short years, he started the Law Offices of David J. Zumpano, remaining of counsel to his former firm. Since his firm has grown twenty fold, it is now known as the Estate Planning Law Center, David J. Zumpano CPA/Esq. The Estate Planning Law Center serves as a model law firm for hundreds of law firms across the country. His practice remains focused on estate planning and elder law. Mr. Zumpano has become a regular speaker to several national banking and financial institutions, as well as several national legal organizations, including WealthCounsel, LLC; Advisor's Forum, LLC; National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys and the American Association of Attorney - CPAs. He has been featured in many local, regional and national newspapers, and on TV and radio programs including National Public Radio. He is also a graduate of the Esperti Peterson Institute for Advanced Wealth Strategies. In addition to his law firm, Mr. Zumpano owns and operates Medicaid Practice Systems, LLC (MPS). MPS has educated more than a thousand attorneys all over the United States on how to provide successful Medicaid planning strategies to clients. He is also a life coach with Coach for Life, Inc., which helps professionals across the United States develop successful professional businesses and more rewarding lives. Mr. Zumpano has published articles on Medicaid planning, asset preservation, charitable giving and is a contributing author to "Giving: Philanthropy for Everyone", published October 2002. He is currently working on a book on Medicaid.
