KENNETH A. BROWN is counsel with the Melville law firm of Harras Bloom & Archer LLP, where he practices in the areas of commercial, corporate, land use, zoning and real estate litigation. He has previously lectured on boundary law topics at several National Business Institute seminars. Mr. Brown was a law clerk for the Honorable Robert D. Potter, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court, Western District of North Carolina. He earned his B.A. degree from Columbia College, Columbia University, and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from New York Law School. Mr. Brown is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, the Nassau County, Suffolk County and American (Litigation Section) bar associations. LISA C. KOMBRINK is a partner with Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin & Quartararo LLP. She began her law career in New York City in 1983, where she wrote and argued numerous appeals before state appellate courts and represented cooperative and condominium association boards of directors. Ms. Kombrink returned to private practice in January, 2000, to handle complex matters before numerous local governing boards, zoning and planning boards and other municipal agencies. From 2003 to 2007, she served as village attorney for the Village of Sag Harbor, and counsel to the Mayor and Board of Trustees, Zoning Board and Planning Board. Ms. Kombrink also has worked extensively on behalf of private and municipal clients in local farmland and open space preservation efforts, drafted related legislation and facilitated community programs on conservation techniques. She has been a guest lecturer at the Suffolk County Bar Association, the New School for Social Research, Siena Spirituality Center at Villa Maria, and has appeared on CNN, CBS Morning News, Court TV and Public Access TV. Ms. Kombrink is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association. She earned her B.A. degree, with honors, from Illinois State University, and her J.D. degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
BRUCE W. MIGATZ is a partner of the Garden City, New York, law firm of Albanese & Albanese LLP. In addition to trial and appellate work, Mr. Migatz concentrates his efforts in municipal and zoning law and serves as general counsel to numerous co-ops and condominiums. He is a former associate adjunct professor at Nassau Community College, a former chief deputy town attorney for the town of North Hempstead and a former village attorney for the incorporated village of Manorhaven. Mr. Migatz has presented lectures on zoning and land use for the New York State Building Officials Conference, the Building Inspectors Association of Nassau County, the Long Island Chapter of A.I.A. and the First American Title Insurance Company of New York. He also has written several articles on zoning and land use for the Nassau Lawyer, the journal of the Nassau County Bar Association. Mr. Migatz is a member of the Nassau County and New York State bar associations, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the America Association for Justice. He is a graduate of Boston University and St. John's University School of Law. Mr. Migatz is admitted to practice in New York, and before the U.S. District courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. THOMAS G. SHERWOOD is a member of Thomas G. Sherwood, LLC, in Garden City, New York, where he practices in real estate, commercial litigation, title insurance litigation, real estate litigation and banking litigation. He has lectured for National Business Institute on real estate and title matters. Mr. Sherwood is a member of the Nassau County and the American bar associations, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and is an associate editor of the Nassau Lawyer. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Fordham University and his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley.
