MICHAEL J. CATALFIMO is the Chief Operating Officer and serves on the executive committee of the Board of Directors at the law firm of Carter, Conboy, Case, Blackmore, Maloney & Laird, P.C. Mr. Catalfimo currently concentrates his practice in the fields of creditors' rights, business and property law and litigation, family law, and general civil litigation. He is also experienced in the areas of estates and trusts law, municipal law, and health care law. Mr. Catalfimo earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 1985, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif National Legal Honor Society. He received his B.A. degree, with all college honors, in government from Skidmore College in 1982. While at Skidmore, Mr. Catalfimo was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and the Periclean Honor Society. He is an active member of the American and New York State bar associations, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Legal and Financial Network, and the Business Litigation Practice Group for the American Law Firm Association. Mr. Catalfimo is the past president of the Washington County Bar Association and the Federation of Bar Associations of the Fourth Judicial District; serves on the arbitration and mediation panels of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York; and is a former adjunct professor of business law at Skidmore College. He is the author of several publications and has lectured on his areas of practice. JEFFREY D. KUHN is a senior associate in the environmental litigation practice group. He regularly represents business and corporate clients from a wide range of industries in a variety of different actions, including state and federal administrative proceedings and litigation. Mr. Kuhn regularly counsels clients on risk minimization, regulatory compliance, litigation avoidance, and litigation management associated with environmental and energy matters. He has been counsel on several compliance and litigation matters of national and international significance, including representing major energy producing companies. Mr. Kuhn has represented a multinational joint venture on the permitting, environmental impact review, and federal judicial and administrative appeals relating to the construction of a liquefied natural gas facility. He has also successfully represented major energy facilities in judicial appeals of state discharge permits, including litigation of the issue of the best technology available for cooling water intake structures. Mr. Kuhn is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the American University and his J.D. degree from Boston College Law School. THOMAS W. SPINRAD is of examining counsel to the agency of Northway & VanRensselaer Title Agency Inc., where he specializes in the areas of title underwriting, selective abstracting and closing of title insurance transactions, closing of commercial escrow transactions, closing loans for lenders and representation of purchasers, sellers and borrowers as attorneys, and examination of foreclosure proceedings and the correction of defective foreclosures. He served as an adjunct professor at Hudson Valley Community College, teaching college courses in introduction to law, including theory of law, civil procedure, torts, crimes, contract law, agency, partnership and corporation law, real and personal property and sales, negotiable instruments, and security interests under the Uniform Commercial Code. Mr. Spinrad has experience in presenting continuing legal education seminars, and instructing searchers and underwriters in real property title examination. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree from Albany Law School.
