JOHN E. DAWSON is a shareholder with Lionel Sawyer & Collins, where his practice focuses primarily in the areas of trusts and estates, and asset protection. He has extensive experience in estate, business and Medicaid planning, wills, education, offshore and revocable living trusts, elder law, probate, guardianships, business succession planning, asset protection planning, estate and gift taxation, and all related corporate law in support of entity formation, including corporations, family limited partnerships, and limited liability companies. Mr. Dawson co-wrote the Asset Protection Guidebook for Attorneys and Accountants, and has taught various continuing legal education courses on probate, estate taxation, and related topics. He is an adjunct professor at the Community College of Southern Nevada, teaching classes on wills, trusts and probate. Mr. Dawson earned his B.S. degree, in accounting, from Weber State University; his J.D. degree from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law, Brigham Young University; and his LL.M. degree, in taxation, from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Nevada (chairman, Probate and Trust Section), the Clark County Bar and the American Bar Association. R. GARDNER JOLLEY is the senior partner in the Las Vegas law firm of Jolley Urga Wirth Woodbury & Standish, where he practices primarily in the areas of probate, trusts, banking, real estate and litigation. Mr. Jolley has been an instructor in business law at Clark County Community College and has spoken frequently on topics relating to his areas of practice. He was chairman of the Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar of Nevada from 1999-2002. Mr. Jolley was chairman of the Probate Revision Committee, established by the Nevada Assembly Judicial Committee to completely revise the probate, estate and trust sections of the Nevada Revised Statutes. The 1999 Legislature adopted substantially all of the amendments recommended by the committee. He is a member of the Clark County and American bar associations. Mr. Jolley was a member of the Board of Governors and past president of the State Bar of Nevada. He is past chairman of the Probate Section. Mr. Jolley also is a member of the State Bar of California, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association, Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council and Inns of Court. He earned his B.S. degree in economics from the University of Utah and J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California. ROBERT L. MORRIS is an associate as well as the lead probate and elder law attorney at Jeffrey Burr. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 2000 with a B.A. degree in International Studies (International Law and Diplomacy). In 2004, Mr. Morris graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska with his J.D. degree. Mr. Morris is currently a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, Southern Nevada Estate Planning Counsel and the City of Henderson Chamber of Commerce. He also has been involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a youth leader. Mr. Morris has presented continuing legal education seminars through the State Bar of Nevada and the National Business Institute on the issues of estate and trust accounting, post mortem planning, probate administration, and estate planning. Mr. Morris has an AV ® Rating from Martindale Hubble and has been named as a Mountain States Rising Star by Super Lawyers. ELYSE M. TYRELL is a partner in the Las Vegas law firm of Trent, Tyrell & Associates where her practice is devoted to elder law, estate planning, tax law, probate and guardianship law. She is a member of the Clark County Bar Association, the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Tyrell is a certified elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. She is a frequent speaker for National Business Institute, and has lectured on estate planning and elder law for the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, the Community College of Southern Nevada and various seminar groups. Ms. Tyrell earned her B.A. degree from the University of Nevada at Reno and her J.D. degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. She also earned an LL.M. degree in taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.
