SERENA BAIG is an attorney with Cooper Coons, Ltd. Ms. Baig earned her B.A. degree in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley and her J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina. During her time at Duke University, Ms. Baig participated in the AIDS Legal project, providing more than 100 hours of free legal assistance to low-income HIV-infected clients relating to end-of-life planning, Social Security, and insurance issues. She was the co-chair of the Duke Law Domestic Violence Advocacy Program and volunteered with Legal Aid of North Carolina, providing free legal services to victims of domestic violence. After receiving her law degree, Ms. Baig worked as an associate attorney at McDonald Carano Wilson, LLP, in Las Vegas, where she practiced in the areas of civil litigation, probate and trust administration, and estate planning. She also worked for several years at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue in Boston. As an appeals officer for the Massachusetts DOR, Ms. Baig conducted hearings with taxpayers and their representatives in order to evaluate and resolve disputed tax matters concerning both federal and Massachusetts individual, corporate, estate, and fiduciary income tax issues. She earned her L.L.M. degree in taxation with an emphasis in estate planning from Boston University School of Law. Upon returning to Las Vegas, Ms. Baig began working at Jeffrey Burr and has had the opportunity to represent clients in estate planning and asset protection matters as well as to assist fiduciaries with the administration of trusts and estates. She is admitted to practice law in Nevada and Massachusetts. JEREMY K. COOPER is a partner with Cooper Coons, Ltd. His practice is focused on estate planning, asset protection, trust administration, probate, and any matters related to these areas of law. Mr. Cooper is currently a member of the Nevada Society of CPAs and the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council. He also serves on the UNLV Planned Giving Professional Advisors Council, the College of Southern Nevada Planned Giving Council and the Goodwill of Southern Nevada Audit Committee. Mr. Cooper speaks Spanish fluently and has been able to provide estate planning and asset protection services to many Spanish speaking clients over the years. He has authored many publications including: "Nevada Laws Provide Top Trust Situs," co-authored with David M. Grant, Nevada Lawyer, May 2010; "A Refresher on Grantor Trusts and Their Income Tax Filing Options," Silver State CPA, September 2009; "Nevada Takes the Lead: Charging Order Protection is Now Available for Small Corporations," co-authored with David M. Mr. Cooper earned his B.S. degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, he continued his education at BYU, where he earned a master's degree. Mr. Cooper earned his J.D. degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. DAVID M. GRANT is a partner at the law firm of Grant Morris Dodds. In addition to handling the estate planning needs for some of Nevada's wealthiest families, he also regularly speaks and writes on the topics of trusts and estates, taxation, and asset preservation. Mr. Grant has an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale Hubble and has been named as one of Nevada's "Legal Elite" by the Nevada Business Magazine. He earned his B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from Southern Utah University, his Master of Accountancy from the University of Utah and his J.D. degree from from the University of Houston. Before attending law school, Mr. Grant worked for the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He places high priority in giving back to his community. Mr. Grant serves as vice chair of the Nevada State College Foundation Board and is on the National Advisory Board for the Southern Utah University School of Business. He also is a trustee for the Henderson Community Foundation and a member of the Vegas PBS Planned Giving Council, and serves as founding chair of the Gift Planning Advisors. ELYSE M. TYRELL is a partner in the Las Vegas law firm of Trent, Tyrell & Associates, where her practice is devoted to elder law, estate planning, tax law, probate and guardianship law. She is a member of the Clark County Bar Association, the Elder Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Tyrell is a certified elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. She is a frequent speaker for National Business Institute, and has lectured on estate planning and elder law for the Housing Authority of the City of Las Vegas, the Community College of Southern Nevada and various seminar groups. Ms. Tyrell earned her B.A. degree from the University of Nevada at Reno, her J.D. degree from Gonzaga University School of Law and her LL.M. degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
