ALAN R. EBER is a pioneer in the asset protection field, an author and highly sought after speaker on estate and wealth planning and protection. Mr. Eber practices law in the fields of foreign and domestic asset protection and estate planning, trusts, business structuring, federal and international taxation, and wealth strategies. Since 1974 he has assisted clients in establishing a wide variety of wealth preservation structures, many of which contain valuable tax savings features. Mr. Eber's books on basic asset protection, family limited partnerships and offshore planning have been adopted by the Education Foundation of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (“Foundation”) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, for use in California and throughout the United States for professional classes. His new book Asset Protection Strategies & Forms, was released by James Publishing (a major law book publisher) in 2007. Mr. Eber's eight-hour course on basic asset protection was introduced to the CPA Education Foundation in 1994 and was sponsored by them for presentation to their members more than 45 times in the following four years. His newest eight-hour course “Advanced Asset Protection” has been sponsored by numerous professional groups in California, Nevada and Washington. Mr. Eber is the author of numerous articles concerning asset protection techniques. His article “The Asset Protection Strategist” has become a classic for both the lay and professional reader. Mr. Eber earned his J.D. degree from The State University of New York, his LL.M. degree in taxation from New York University and studied international taxation at the University of Brussels. He is admitted to the state bars of New York and California, as well as the U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Eber is a member of Wealth Counsel and is the founding member of the Estate and Wealth Strategies Collaborative. ROBERT MATTHEWS is the owner of Global Asset Advisors, Inc., which has provided asset protection services for 20 years. Mr. Matthews earned his B.S. degree in business from California State University in Los Angeles. He earned his M.B.A. degree from California Lutheran University. Mr. Matthews previously held the position of senior vice president in charge of lending at Valley State Bank and Charter National Bank in Encino, California.
