EMILY A. FRANKE s a partner in the Albuquerque law firm of Butt Thornton & Baehr PC. Her practice is primarily concentrated in appeals, but she also focuses her practice in the areas of mediation and arbitration. Ms. Franke has previously lectured on legal ethics for National Business Institute and for the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association. She earned her B.A., M.B.A. and J.D. degrees, cum laude, from the University of New Mexico, where she was the recipient of the Moise Award for Legal and Judicial Ethics. Ms. Franke also attended the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution. She is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, Albuquerque Bar Association, New Mexico Medical Review Commission and the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association. JAMES T. REIST is an attorney with Tax Estate & Business Law Ltd. He currently serves as co-chair of the Ethics Advisory Committee of the State Bar of New Mexico, and has been a member of that committee for more than 10 years. Mr. Reist's practice is primarily in the areas of commercial disputes and bankruptcy. He is a frequent lecturer on his areas of practice for various professional groups and organizations. He earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Wright State University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University. Mr. Reist is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a board member of the Albuquerque Bar Association and member of the H. Verle Payne Inn of Courts, the American Bar Association Center for Professional Responsibility and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. In 2010, Mr. Reist was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
