MICHAEL CORWIN is a licensed private investigator and operates the Albuquerque based firm of Corwin Research & Investigations, LLC. He has conducted civil and criminal litigation investigations in California and New Mexico since 1988. He specializes in developing successful case investigation strategy and consulting services, assessing the adequacy and sufficiency of investigation in matters where there is a duty to investigate. Mr. Corwin conducts investigations for the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission and provides opposition research and self-research for political campaigns. He is a regular guest instructor for the University of New Mexico Law School Clinical Program. Mr. Corwin is the author of the book The Essentials of Litigation Investigations, as well as numerous articles on investigation for the legal community. He also is the author of Training Manual on Private Investigation, Thomas Investigative Publishing, 2003. Mr. Corwin has been a featured speaker at seminars and training programs. His cases have been featured in the local and national media, including an Edward R. Murrow Award Dateline NBC episode. Mr. Corwin earned his B.A. degree from the University of Florida. ROBERT MEAD is director of the New Mexico Supreme Court Law Library in Santa Fe, where he is the State Law Librarian. Mr. Mead was previously an instructor at the University of Kansas School of Law and the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he taught advanced legal research and served as faculty services librarian. He currently teaches legal research and writing to paralegals at Santa Fe Community College. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of New Mexico, and his master's degree from Emporia State University. Mr. Mead is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico and the American Association of Law Libraries. He also writes extensively about elder and disability law.
DAVID VERMOOTEN is a reference librarian at the New Mexico Supreme Court Law Library. He specializes in digital legal research and information technology. Mr. Vermooten earned his B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Kansas School of Engineering, his J.D. degree from the University of Kansas School of Law, and his master's degree in Library Science from Emporia State University School of Library and Information Management. His work experience includes positions at the University of Kansas Wheat Law Library; the Washburn University Law Library; the library of the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth; Shook, Hardy & Bacon, LLP; and Kansas.gov.
