ELGA A. GOODMAN is the principal of EA Goodman Law LLC, where she concentrates her practice on business and personal taxation issues, including domestic and international estate planning, the administration of trusts and estates, and closely-held business planning. Ms. Goodman advises clients on estate planning techniques aimed at ensuring that assets pass to the intended beneficiaries, while minimizing the state and federal tax burdens. She has established charitable trusts and foundations, planned and implemented gifting programs, and has drafted wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and pre-nuptial agreements. Ms. Goodman also counsels clients about planning for incapacity, and assists clients with planning for possible long-term care needs. She is involved in many aspects of trust and estate administration, as well as probate litigation. Additionally, Ms. Goodman counsels closely-held corporations, including high-tech companies and other businesses on a variety of issues including tax strategies, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, structuring of joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies and other strategic alliances. She earned her B.A. degree from Drew University, her J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University, and her LL.M. degree from the New York University School of Law. Ms. Goodman is a member of the New Jersey State and American bar associations. KEVIN F. MURPHY is a member of the Roseland law firm of Lum, Drasco & Positan, LLC, where his main areas of practice are taxation, limited liability companies, estate planning, trusts and estates, ERISA, employee benefits and nonprofit organizations law. Mr. Murphy also is a certified public accountant. He has lectured to various professional groups on tax topics, and he is an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the M.S. tax program. Mr. Murphy earned his B.B.A degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University. He is a member of the New Jersey State (member, Taxation, Employee Benefits, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections) and American (member, Taxation and Employee Benefits sections) bar associations and the Northern New Jersey Estate Planning Council. RICHARD E. NOVAK is with the Law Offices of Richard E. Novak, LLC, in Englewood, New Jersey. He counsels business entities in formation, transactional, contractual, environmental and litigation issues, as well as intellectual property law. Mr. Novak is a registered patent attorney. He has lectured to various professional groups on business and intellectual property law topics, and he is an adjunct professor at Felician College, teaching business law and business ethics. Mr. Novak is a member of the New Jersey State (member, Business, Environmental and Intellectual Property Law sections) and American (member, Business and Intellectual Property sections) bar associations. He earned his B.S. degree from Union College (New York); his J.D. degree from Yeshiva University, Benjamin N.
