L. SCOTT BERKOBEN is the principal in the Westwood law firm of L. Scott Berkoben, P.A., a full service law firm. Mr. Berkoben has extensive real estate experience, having served as Westwood's land use commissioner for seven years, and as chair of the Planning Board and as a member of the Zoning Board. Mr. Berkoben wrote Westwood's Master Plan and served as attorney for Westwood's Parking Authority. He has conducted hundreds of commercial and residential real estate closings. He is a former municipal prosecutor and public defender for several towns in New Jersey. Mr. Berkoben received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Fairleigh University, where he has served as a lecturer and a history and political science teacher. He received his J.D. degree from Seton Hall University. He is a member of the Bergen County and New Jersey State bar associations. KELLY P. HAWRUK is an attorney with A. Schancupp & Associates, L.L.C. She has been practicing law in North New Jersey for more than 20 years. She has conducted hundreds of real estate transactions and was a licensed title insurance producer for many years. Ms. Hawruk is an experienced litigator and a trained mediator, often appointed by the court to mediate matters involving contract disputes, probate matters and estate litigation, and she is on the Superior Court Roster of Civil Mediators for Essex, Morris and Passaic counties. Furthermore, Ms. Hawruk has been approved by the Superior Court of New Jersey to mediate foreclosure matters in Morris and Passaic counties. Ms. Hawruk also serves as a panelist on the Early Settlement Panel in Passaic County, assisting family law litigants and their attorneys settle cases prior to trial. She has lectured on family law issues at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey and Women In Transition, also in Wayne. She volunteers for various charitable organizations and has acted as a mentor for the New Jersey State Bar Association Mock Trial Program, mentoring the 2004 Law Adventure State Champions. Ms. Hawruk earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, from Western New England College and her J.D. degree from Western New England School of Law. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (member, Real Property, Trusts and Estate Law; Family Law; and Civil Litigation sections) and the Passaic County Bar Association. ANDREW P. ZACHARDA is a partner in the firm of Tompkins McGuire Wachenfeld & Barry LLP, where he practices in the areas of real estate related litigation (including title litigation and foreclosures), commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditors' rights. Mr. Zacharda earned his A.B. degree, magna cum laude, from Muhlenberg College and his J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School. He is a qualified mediator for the Superior Court of New Jersey and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. His memberships include the New Jersey State Bar Association (member, Equity Jurisprudence Committee; Bankruptcy and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections), the Pennsylvania Bar Association (member, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section) and the New York State Bar Association (member, Real Property Law Section).
