SUSAN M. CACCIOLA, RN, BS, LNC, is the owner of Legal Nurse LLC in Ridgewood. Ms. Cacciola is an instructor with the CEU Institute in Lake Cary, Florida, where she teaches national insurance and health care continued education. Also, since 2007, she has served as an instructor at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York, where she presents continuing education classes for nurses and allied healthcare professionals. Ms. Cacciola earned her B.S.N. degree, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University. She is a registered nurse in New Jersey. Ms. Cacciola is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, the Morristown Chapter of the New Jersey AALNC and the American Nurses Association/New Jersey State Nurses Association. She also is a member of the National Private Duty Association, the Governor's Advisory Council on Domestic Violence-Resource, the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants and the Home Health Care Nurses Association. DR. JAMES E. CHENITZ, D.M.D., focuses his practice on treatment of jaw pain; jaw movement problems, called temporomandibular disorders (TMDs); and orofacial pains, including headaches. He is certified by the American Board of Orofacial Pain, and has been evaluating and treating temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pains for more than 25 years. These conditions can involve jaw muscles, the jaw joints, as well as vascular and nerve disorders, and other nonspecific facial pains. Currently, Dr. Chenitz is the Director of Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and at Monmouth Medical Center where, in addition to treating patients, he presents the didactic program related to temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pains for dental residents. He also is the director of dentistry at Saint Michael's Medical Center. After receiving his doctorate of medical dentistry from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Chenitz completed an internship at Philadelphia General Hospital, a residency in pediatric dentistry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and a two year advanced degree in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain at UMDNJ. He has practiced pediatric and general dentistry for more than 25 years, focusing on facial pain complaints. Dr. Chenitz is a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and frequently lectures to dental and medical groups. He maintains private practices in South Orange and Red Bank, New Jersey. CHERYL GATTI is a certified legal nurse consultant and a partner in Lark & Gatti Medical Legal Consultants. She has extensive experience as a testifying nurse expert. Over the past 18 years she has successfully assisted attorneys with personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal, product liability, and mass tort litigation for both plaintiff and defense firms. Ms. Gatti's clinical expertise is in critical care nursing, and she holds an alumnus status critical care certification from AACN. Her clinical practice included medical surgical and critical care, and she was the nurse manager of a medical surgical intensive care unit. Ms. Gatti is one of the founding members of the Northern New Jersey Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and has served the board in a variety of positions, including president. She has lectured on numerous topics, including nursing documentation, nursing malpractice and spinal epidural hematomas. Ms. Gatti was co-author of the "Personal Injury and Accident Reconstruction" chapter in Legal Nurse Consulting Principles, 3rd edition. She is a current manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Critical Care and The Journal of Legal Nurse Consulting. DR. ALBERTO M. GOLDWASER has decades of experience in the fields of clinical psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, psychoanalysis, and psychosomatic medicine. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine and UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine, and past president of the New Jersey Psychoanalytic Society. Dr. Goldwaser also is chairman of the Ethics Committee of the Psychoanalytic Association of New York and of the New Jersey Psychoanalytic Society, and chair of the Cross-Cultural Committee of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law. Dr. Goldwaser works full time at the Ann Klein Forensic Center - Special Treatment Unit, and maintains a clinical and forensic (civil/criminal) practice in New Jersey and New York. JANE D. HERON, RN, BSN, MBA, has been a registered nurse for more than 30 years. Her clinical background is diverse and includes cardiac rehabilitation, emergency/trauma, cardiac catheterization and general surgery. Ms. Heron has worked as a legal nurse consultant for ten years. At Med League Support Services Inc., she saves her attorney clients time and money by using her 30 years of nursing experience and expertise to provide a variety of services. Ms. Heron is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). She has been on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chapter of AALNC for approximately five years and is the immediate past president. In order to promote the field of legal nurse consulting and provide education for LNCs, Ms. Heron is on the planning committee for the first AALNC Northeast Regional LNC Conference. She is a member of the National Alliance of Medicare Set Aside Professionals (NAMSAP). Ms. Heron earned her B.S. degree in nursing from Columbia University and her M.B.A. degree from Missouri State University. MODERATOR - MICHAEL F. MARTINO is a partner in the Livingston law firm of Stein, McGuire, Pantages & Gigl, LLP, where his main areas of practice are commercial litigation and personal injury defense. He is board certified in civil trial law by the New Jersey Supreme Court. Mr. Martino is on the Board of Directors in the paralegal program at Fairleigh Dickinson University at the Madison, New Jersey campus. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. Mr. Martino earned his B.A. degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and his J.D. degree from Rutgers University. He is a member of the New Jersey State and American bar associations and is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer association. Since 2005, Mr. Martino has been named as one of New Jersey's Super Lawyers in the area of civil litigation. DR. He went on to obtain his post baccalaureate from Columbia University and earned his doctor in medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After completing his general surgery internship at Rutgers University Medical School, Dr. Vitolo completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Massachusetts.
