JOHN CARTER is an attorney with the Carter Law Firm, where he specializes in foreclosure defense, bankruptcy (Chapters 7 and 13), immigration, tax litigation, audit representation and tax preparation. He serves as an adjunct professor at Doane College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he teaches paralegal courses in legal research, writing, investigation and personnel law. Mr. Carter published a book entitled Credit Repair and Debt Collection Practices, by Dageford Publishing. The book is a self-help "how to" publication that explains the rights that a consumer may assert when dealing with collections agencies, banks and credit bureaus. DERR is an attorney with the Omaha law firm of Parsonage Vandenack Williams LLC, where she has extensive experience in representing debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, Chapter 11 creditors' committees and Chapter 7 trustees in a wide range of bankruptcy matters. She earned her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Doane College in 1985 and her J.D. degree, with high distinction, in 1990 from the University of Nebraska where she was Order of the Coif and executive editor of the Nebraska Law Review. Ms. Derr is a member of the Omaha, the Nebraska State and the American bar associations, the Robert Spire Inns of Court, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. TREV E. PETERSON is a partner at Knudsen Berkheimer Richardson & Endacott, LLP. Mr. Peterson has nearly 30 years of experience in the commercial and real estate lending, bankruptcy, foreclosure and commercial litigation practice areas. He has represented lenders in cases under Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Peterson is a member of the American, Nebraska State and Lincoln bar associations, and the American Bankruptcy Institute, is a fellow in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, is a fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, and was named as a Super Lawyer of the Midwest in 2007. He is a past president of the Banking Law Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association and is a former president of the Bankruptcy Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association. Mr. Peterson attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for his undergraduate education and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. He is a frequent speaker at seminars involving lending, bankruptcy and foreclosure. PAUL W. REA is a sole practitioner at The Law Office of Paul W. Rea in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Rea practices in the areas of bankruptcy law and debtor rights. He earned his B.S. degree in journalism from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, and his J.D. degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law in Lincoln, Nebraska.
