HOUSTON DOAN is a licensed insurance agent and financial counselor in the LIFE (Lincoln Information for the Elderly) Office of the Lincoln Area Agency on Aging. He is a frequent lecturer throughout his area, most recently at a University of Nebraska law seminar last fall, where he talked on Medicare and Medicaid issues. Mr. Doan also recently spoke at the Nebraska Coalition of County Commissioners state meeting in Kearney, where he talked on Part D and the economic impact on counties. He is a frequent contributor to his department's bi-monthly newsletter, Living Well, where he writes on long term care insurance, Medicare advantage and Medicare Part D. Mr. Doan earned his B.S. degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is a member of various committees such as, the Workforce Investment Act Board for Lancaster and Saunders counties. Mr. Doan is on a state coalition of state holders of Medicare. MARY L. WILSON is an attorney in private practice in Omaha, where she practices in the area of aging law. She serves as an attorney for Lincoln Information For the Elderly. Ms. Wilson was the 1987 recipient of the Paul Lichterman Award, which is presented to one person nationwide each year for outstanding achievement in the delivery of legal services to the elderly. Ms. Wilson co-wrote the ElderLaw Desk Manual, published in October 1990. She is a former contributor to "The Law Speaks" column in Lifelines and has written other articles on elder law topics. Ms. Wilson is chair of the Elder Law Section. She taught "The Law and Aging" for 12 years at the University of Omaha, Nebraska, and is currently teaching at Creighton University School of Law. Ms. Wilson earned her B.A. degree from Wayne State College and her J.D. degree from Creighton University School of Law. She is a member of the Nebraska State and American bar associations.
