MICHELE JULIN, PA-C has been a practicing physician assistant in Omaha for 30 years, with the last 11 years at Midwest NeuroSurgery & Spine Specialists. She practiced in orthopedic surgery for 13 years prior to working at Midwest NeuroSurgery & Spine Specialists. Ms. Julin attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for undergraduate studies; graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center Physician Assistant program in 1981 and obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1985. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Legal Medicine and the Academy of Neurosurgical Physician Assistants. Ms. Julin has published extensively in medical journals and textbooks, and currently is a clinical review editor for JAAPA, the official journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. JOHN CALABRO, PA-C is a physician assistant at Midwest NeuroSurgery & Spine Specialists. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and he graduated from the United States Interservice Physician Assistant School in 2001. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the United States Special Operations Medical Association. Mr. Calabro retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service. He has been deployed to multiple countries and conflicts, including being a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving in Iraq from 2005-2007. He has served with U.S. Army Reconnaissance Surveillance and Acquisition, Long Range Surveillance, and U.S. Special Operations. DR. LESLIE HELLBUSCH is the senior partner at Midwest NeuroSurgery & Spine Specialists. Board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the prestigious American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, he specializes in both pediatric and adult neurosurgery. Dr. Hellbusch is vice-section chief for neurosurgery and a clinical professor of surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He directs the neurosurgery training program at Methodist Hospital and is widely known for his published work on the treatment of brain and spinal column illness and injury. Dr. Hellbusch earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduated from Northwestern Medical School and completed his neurosurgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been in private practice since 1977 and is a native of Columbus, Nebraska.
