HON. TODD L. CRESAP is a District Court Judge with the Northwest Judicial District of North Dakota. HON. SONNA M. ANDERSON is a District Court Judge with the South Central Judicial District in Bismarck. Judge Anderson was appointed in December 2003 by Governor John Hoeven to succeed Judge Benny Graff as district judge. Her judicial term began February 1, 2004, and she was subsequently elected in 2006. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Anderson was in private practice in Bismarck from 1987 to 2004. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota and her J.D degree from the University of Denver College of Law. WAYNE D. GOTER is a judicial referee in Bismarck. Mr. Goter was with the Public Defender's Office since 1991 and before that, he was a prosecutor for six years. He oversees cases involving juveniles, small claims and child support issues, among other duties. HON. DONALD L. JORGENSEN is a District Court Judge with the South Central Judicial District in Mandan. Judge Jorgensen was elected judge of the Southwest Judicial District in 1984 and reelected in 1990. He transferred to the South Central Judicial District with chambers at Linton in 1995. He was reelected in 1996, 2002 and 2008. Judge Jorgensen is active as a member of the National Juvenile and Family Court Judges, presently serving his second term as chairman of the Rural Courts Committee, National Juvenile Judges. Prior to his election to the bench, he was engaged in private practice in Dickinson for ten years. He also served two years as county judge of Stark County. Judge Jorgensen earned his Ph.B. degree from the University of North Dakota and his J.D. degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law. PAUL H. MYERCHIN is a partner with the Bismarck law firm of Bormann Myerchin Monasky & Espeseth, LLP, where his practice emphasizes civil litigation, criminal defense and family law. Mr. Myerchin has several hundred hours of bench and jury trial experience in his past 12 years of practice. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of North Dakota. Mr. Myerchin clerked with the judges of the South Central Judicial District for one year before joining his present firm. He is licensed to practice in both North Dakota and Minnesota. Mr. Myerchin is past president of the Big Muddy Bar Association and is a past board member of the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. JAMES M. VUKELIC is a hearing officer for the State Department of Transportation, teaches at the University of Mary and is an associate justice on the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Supreme Court. A former guidance counselor, Mr. Vukelic has spent most of his career as a county prosecutor, a tribal court prosecutor and a trial court judge. He wrote two books, Testifying Under Oath: How To Be An Effective Witness and A Law Enforcement Officer's Guide to Testifying in Court. Mr. Vukelic earned his B.S., M.S.Ed. and J.D. degrees at the University of North Dakota. MODERATOR - BRENDA A. NEUBAUER is a partner in the law firm of Neubauer & Oster in Bismarck, where her main area of practice is family law. She also practices in the areas of criminal defense and civil litigation. Ms. Neubauer graduated from UND School of Law in 1994, and entered private practice. She is a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota and the North Dakota Association for Justice and is admitted to practice in North Dakota, the North Dakota Federal District Court, and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Neubauer is also involved in healthcare advocacy, often traveling to Washington, D.C., and other areas throughout the United States.
