ALTON D. BAIN is a partner with Bain, Buzzard & McRae, LLP, where he practices in the areas of taxation, trusts and estates, wills, probate, estate planning, estate administration and elder law. Mr. Bain is a member of the Harnett County (president 1992-1993), the North Carolina (member, Estate Planning, Fiduciary Law, Elder Law and Tax sections) and the American (member, Taxation, Probate and Trust sections) bar associations. He also was the 2005 president of the 11th Judicial District. Mr. Bain earned his A.B. degree, summa cum laude, from Duke University, his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina and his LL.M. degree in taxation from the University of Florida. J. WESLEY CASTEEN is of counsel to the Saffo Law Firm, P.C. in Wilmington. His practice areas include estate planning and administration, commercial transactions (including Real Property), tax planning and defense and civil litigation. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and he is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA). Mr. Casteen gained invaluable insight and experience in entrepreneurial business by founding, managing, and ultimately selling his own business. He speaks regularly at continuing education seminars on topics including business organization, succession planning for family businesses, and estate planning. Mr. Casteen is a contributing author to the Campbell Law Observer, North Carolina State Bar Quarterly, and North Carolina Lawyers' Weekly. He has served on the Executive Committee for the 5th District Judicial Bar, including Secretary-Treasurer (2007), Vice President (2008), and President (2009). He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Cape Fear Chapter of the North Carolina Association of CPA's (NCACPA), including Secretary (2005), Vice President (2006), and President (2007-08). Mr. Casteen earned his B.S. degree in Accounting from the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University, his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and his LL.M. degree with a concentration in Taxation from the University of Alabama. THOMAS H NUNALEE IV is a partner in the law firm of Nunalee and Nunalee, L.L.P., in Wilmington, where his practice is concentrated in the areas of wills, trusts and estates. He earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from North Carolina State University and his J.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Nunalee is a member of the New Hanover County Bar Association (member, Real Property Section), the New Hanover County Estate Planning Council (past President), the American Bar Association and North Carolina Bar Association (member, Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section and Elder Law Section Council). ANDREW OLSEN is an attorney in the Elder Law Firm of Andrew Olsen in Wilmington where he practices in the areas of elder law, estate planning, probate, guardianship, alternative dispute resolution, estate and trust litigation, special needs planning and veteran's benefits. He earned his B.A. degree from Pomona College and his J.D. from Georgetown University . Mr. Olsen is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. LISA SALINES-MONDELLO is an attorney with Salines-Mondello Law Firm, PC and is of counsel with the Elder Law Firm of Andrew Olsen in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she practices in the areas of estate planning, elder law and probate law, focusing her practice on the transfer and protection of her client's assets. Her practice involves estate planning, asset protection planning, Medicaid, Veteran and elder law issues, special needs planning, and trust and estate administration.
