AUSTIN M. CHESTNUT is an attorney with Shanahan Law Group, PLLC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of wills and trusts; estate administration (probate); asset protection for businesses and individuals; estate and trust litigation; business transactions; business formations; and contract and business disputes. He earned his B.S. degree from North Carolina State University's College of Management and his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Campbell University. Mr. Chestnut is admitted to practice in all North Carolina state courts, all three federal district courts of North Carolina, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Tax Court. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association (Estate Planning Section) and the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity International. KIMBERLY A. HERRICK is a partner at Conner & Herrick, PLLC in Concord, North Carolina, where she practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, tax, corporate formation, criminal defense and traffic. Prior to joining Mills, Goldsmith & Herrick, PLLC, Ms. Herrick worked for KPMG. She is a frequent lecturer for National Business Institute and currently teaches LSAT preparation for Kaplan. She also was a former professor of taxation at North Carolina Central University School of Law. Ms. Herrick earned her J.D. degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law and her LL.M. degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. JOHN P. HUGGARD is the senior member in the Raleigh law firm of Huggard Obiol & Blake, PLLC, where he practices exclusively in the areas of estate planning and related litigation. He is a certified financial planner, and is board-certified in estate planning and probate law by the North Carolina State Bar. He lectures regularly to professional groups on topics dealing with estate administration, estate taxation and estate planning, and he is the author of several estate planning related books. Mr. Huggard was named a Super Lawyer by the Charlotte City Magazine in 2007. Mr. Huggard retired from North Carolina State University where he taught introductory and advanced courses in law and finance for 32 years. He was a member of the University's Academy of Outstanding Teachers and in 1994 was named an Alumni Distinguished Professor. He earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master's degree from Duke University.
